Bonus Round 3: Gift Tags

Bonus Round 3: Gift Tags

Feeling generous? In this round, you get to give creative gifts as prompts.

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on July 7 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES
  • Submit prompts as a gift tag in the format below. You can specify the size and a characteristic of the gift, who the sender is, who the recipient is, and a one or two sentence note from the sender to the recipient. Descriptions of the package and the included note don’t have to be explicit, see below.
    • Package: medium sized cube, rattles
      From: Kageyama Tobio
      To: Hinata Shouyou
Note: These will help you get better.
    • Envelope: manila, 12''x17'', very thick and heavy
      From: Tezuka Kunimitsu
      To: Kinjou Shingo
Note: Enclosed - Play without regrets!
  • Your prompt MUST include a relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Riko & Momoi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Riko/Momoi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work. Fillers can get creative with how to interpret the prompt: your fill can be about the character receiving the gift, one or both characters using the gift, what prompted the sender to send the gift—the physical gift itself can even be excluded from your fill. What’s important is that the gift tag is clearly the inspiration for your fill.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

idk if this is what you wanted kathy but hopefully it'll do lmao

"you bribing me now, takigawa?" zaizen says, the curl of his voice mocking in the street lamp glow, stressed syllables of the surname no one but game announcers and sports commentators use landing like well-aimed pebbles.

"it worked, didn't it?" chris says, entirely pleasant, rising from the bench he's been sitting on. "i've got a surprise for you. come on."

zaizen grumbles but falls into step, manufactured resentment too thin to hold onto. "you could just have asked to see me like a normal person, you know, mr. i-haven't-been-home-in-three-months."

"i wanted to make sure you came," chris says, in his most reasonable tone. zaizen knocks into him sideways.

"you know i would have anyway," he says. chris laughs, barely even stumbling, always so fucking solid. well, maybe zaizen missed the part where he wasn't, but it's not like he would have been any help, then. that bitterness is still thick in his lungs some days, filtering slowly out of his blood like poison. slow, but sure. he is finding his way. "where are we even going?"

"right here," chris says, steering them off the main path, toward a trail meandering up the steep side of a hill.

zaizen snorts. "are you taking me to the makeout spot?"

"yes," chris says, voice mild, and zaizen barks out a laugh.

it's a long walk, the slope flattening out at the apex, metal rails at the lip guarding against the sheer drop on the other side. it's high enough to provide a clear patch of sky, stars brighter, air fresher. zaizen follows chris to the fence, leans his weight on his arms across to the top to rest his knee. chris is quiet next to him, shoulder pressing close enough to touch.

"so what's the big deal?" zaizen says. the moon is fat and full, bright on the curve of chris's face.

"there's a lunar eclipse tonight," chris says. "i thought we could watch it together."

zaizen stares at him. "a lunar eclipse," he says.

"it should start in just another minute or two," chris says, still looking at the sky. zaizen shakes his head.

"you're so fucking indirect for such a smart guy," he says, shifts sideways to lean against chris. "you could just say you missed me."

chris laughs, quiet. "i did," he says, lifts his arm to let zaizen slide under it.

"me too," zaizen says, still half-grumble, slinging an arm low around chris's waist, settling himself comfortably against chris's side. "and i was promised more daifuku, where is it?"

"i'll bring you more tomorrow," chris says, lips pressed against zaizen's temple. "i bought a lot."

"fine," zaizen says, but he doesn't really care right now, about strawberry daifuku or about the moon. it's quiet up here and it's just the two of them and for now, that's enough.
