Bonus Round 1: AUs

AUs

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM EDT on 10 June. Late comments are screened and will not receive points.

This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

since kinjou's pretty decent at crafts and sewing, things are a little different in this universe. (aka, kinjou doesn't roll a critical failure and poison himself on shells, and his friends love and cherish his gifts)

***

“Hey, guys! I made you all a little something!”

While Makishima was off learning to surf and Tadokoro was doing... Well, whatever it was he was doing, (scaring the daylights out of their crewmates- that's what it was,) Kinjou had busied himself with making a few gifts for his companions. The beach was filled with plenty of material, and with Kinjou's knowledge of both nature and arts & crafts, it seemed like the obvious choice.

“Oh, for real?” Makishima sits up with genuine interest, while his brother, Ren, made no attempt to move or even acknowledge something was happening. This was his relaxation time, dammit.

“Kinjou, you shouldn't have!” Tadokoro barks with a laugh, thumping a strong hand against the cleric's back. It leaves Kinjou more than a little winded, but he manages a smile, rummaging through his bag and pulling out a few trinkets he crafted over the weeks.

The first was an expertly woven (though still a little soggy) pair of kelp slippers, which he presents to Makishima. At first, the wizard seemed a tad... hesitant. But after trying them on and seeing how they actually looked and felt, he was absolutely smitten. They matched his hair perfectly, and were actually pretty comfortable, despite the sogginess. And hey, he could use them as water shoes when he's out surfing. Practicality and fashion, rolled into one kelpy package.

The second was an intricately carved piece of driftwood made to look like a bear, with an attachment on the back that could allow someone to wear it on their arm if they so desired. Like a wood tattoo or something, y'know? A tribal tattoo without all the regret.
Tadokoro however, can barely stifle a snort at the stupid idea of a wooden tattoo. Wouldn't he just get a regular temporary tattoo instead? But that aside, the bear was fucking rad. He puts that shit on his arm ASAP, flexing and showing it off to his pals.

The third was kind of... gross, though Kinjou presents it with pride. It was a gift for Ren; a shower cap made from the remains of a Portugese Man-Of-War jellyfish. Though Kinjou himself had stung himself more than a few times trying to neutralize the stupid thing's tentacles, it was totally safe, and the remaining tentacles hung down to look like pink highlights.
“..That's a dead fish, I don't want that.” Ren says simply, lowering his sunglasses.

That doesn't deter Kinjou in the slightest however, insisting he try it on.

“I thought you'd really like it, seeing as you're all about fashion and pink and all that, and-”

“Kinjou, you do understand how much I don't want that, right? It's gross, that's literally a dead fish.” To prove his point, he drops the jellyfish to the ground, where it flops with a gross splattering sound. “Oh no, what a shame. How terrible. What will I do.”

Appalled, Makishima scoops up the droopy shower cap, holding it close.

“Ren, that's so rude? If you don't want it, I'll use it, god! It'll help whenever I'm trying to touch up my roots. And it looks stylish as all hell!!”

Ren sits up then, almost offended by this nonsense. He knows Makishima has some questionable fashion taste, but this was a dead fish.

“Yuu, you can't be serious. It's gross, look at it jiggle!! Put it back in the water or something, give it a viking funeral.”

“Hell no! You better believe I'm keeping this, bubula. I'm using it as soon as we get back to the ship!”

Clearly displeased by his brother's horrible life decisions, Ren continues to argue and try to convince Makishima to Not Put A Dead Fish On His Head. It's useless of course, but it gets another laugh out of Tadokoro, joining in on Makishima's side of the argument and vouching for the poor jellyfish.

Off to the side, Kinjou feels himself laugh a little too, hugging his satchel with the remaining gift inside. Guess he'll leave them be for now, he's got one last delivery to make.
