Bonus Round 3: FSTs

FSTs

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM EDT on 8 July. Late comments are screened and will not receive points.

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

If you see anyone breaking the code of conduct (e.g., causing drama, being rude) anywhere (not just DW), please contact the mods immediately.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

Eiji and Oishi had never meant to be gods. They started out no different from anyone else, just two boys who lived near one another and liked playing together. But in a place where food was scarce and enemies and backstabbing were plentiful, even that was enough to turn heads. When their friendship lasted across months that stretched into years, then people began to talk.

At some point, they grew old enough to be sent out beyond the scant shelter that the walls provided, and their games turned into battles against the creatures that prowled outside the walls. They fought together as a seamless pair, both covering for the other without a second thought. They tried not to draw attention to themselves, but when they returned time after time, dust-covered, but alive, then the rumors really started.

They ventured out farther than anyone else in their hunting, and they usually fought as a pair alone. But on the rare occasions someone spotted them mid-battle, the whispering would grow even louder―whispers that they weren't humans but gods.

Eiji was the first to hear the rumors, and he hid a smile behind his hand. He and Oishi were friends, sure, maybe even more than friends, but he was pretty sure they were both just normal people who had been lucky enough to find one another.

But that didn't change the way people looked at them, and it was Oishi who first suggested that they stop trying to fight the rumors. After all, he pointed out, people had precious little to cling to anymore, and what did they gain by taking away the last shreds of the people's hope?

And so the mortals Eiji and Oishi strove to become the gods that the people wanted. They worked harder than ever to make sure they never lost a fight and ventured farther and farther afield to always return with a successful hunt. When one of them was injured, the other tended to them in the dark of night, far from prying eyes.

And when the time finally came that they passed on, all of the stories, and songs, and prayers that had been directed at them did what they had been unable to do in life and tied their spirits to the land, turning them into the gods they had striven so hard to emulate.

They say that if you look up into the night sky, you can still see their stars side-by-side watching over the land.
