Bonus Round 3: FSTs

FSTs

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM EDT on 8 July. Late comments are screened and will not receive points.

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

It all started with one stray word, Inui thinks. It was so unlike him to let it slip out before practice one day. He had been going over training notes and giving out assignments for the day when he reached Kaidou's. Kaidou had been training hard, clearly, that much was obvious even without the notes and graphs to back it up. And okay, Inui may have let his eyes linger on Kaidou's muscles, visible even through his shirt, a little too long, and the sight must have short-circuited something in his brain, because the next words out of his mouth were "you look good, Kaidou." Perhaps they wouldn't have meant much coming from anyone else, but from Inui, who always planned his words carefully, it was enough to have Kaidou's eyes snapping up to him. Inui had quickly rattled off Kaidou's training menu to cover his surprise, and that should have been the end of things.

Of course, it hadn't been that simple, which was why Inui now found himself going over his notes for the third time while he waited for Kaidou to return from his run. Normally he wouldn't have said anything, but Kaidou had been running longer and longer after practices ever since The Incident. The first couple of days, Inui had barely made a note of it, but then Eiji had commented about how it was strange that Kaidou was suddenly avoiding changing with the rest of the team. Well, technically Eiji had asked if Kaidou had suddenly grown snake scales or something, and Oishi had poked him of course, and everyone had laughed, but it had made Inui start thinking.

He's been wondering since, and since he's pretty sure Oishi might kill him if Kaidou overtrains to the point of injury, he's sitting by the courts wondering how long it's going to take Kaidou to get back from his run. He's been waiting for nearly two hours already, and he's starting to run out of ways to recombine the data in his practice notes.

When the sun sets, he finally gives up and thinks Kaidou must have skipped coming back to the courts entirely. He'd be more confident in that conclusion if Kaidou hadn't left his bag behind, but he's tired of waiting in any case, and Kaidou seems to have forgotten a lock for his locker again, so he takes Kaidou's bag and slings it over his other shoulder as he leaves.

His phone chimes at him as he's walking, and he's letting his parents know he's almost home when he runs into something on the sidewalk in front of his house.

"Sorry, Senpai," a familiar voice says, but by the time Inui finds his glasses and puts them back on, Kaidou is halfway down the street.

"Wait," Inui calls after him, but Kaidou doesn't look back.

Inui drops both of their bags by his door and sprints off after him. His lungs are burning by the time he finally catches up to Kaidou by the river.

"Wait," he gasps, grabbing onto Kaidou's wrist.

Kaidou stops, and Inui doubles over trying to catch his breath.

"Why do you keep doing this?" Inui asks as Kaidou says "Why did you follow me?"

Silence follows, and then Kaidou's hand is resting on his back. He looks up, and Kaidou's face is red, and he doesn't think it's just from the sunset reflecting off of the water.

"Oh," Inui mumbles. This particular turn of events had most decidedly not been in his data.

"You should stretch, Senpai," Kaidou says, but Inui doesn't miss the way their finger lace together as Kaidou urges him down onto the grass.
