Bonus Round 5: Clue

Clue

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM EDT on 5 August. Late comments are screened and will not receive points.

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
    • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
    • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
    • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
    • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Oishi's wrist aches. His chest aches too, but that's a different sort of ache. It's a very different feeling than how it had been when he had gone to pull their team's seed for the beginning of the National tournament. His chest had been tight with nerves then, but it had soared when Tezuka had appeared without warning to take over the draw for him.

The soaring feeling hadn't lasted though. Not when he ended up in a ranking match with Tezuka in front of the entire team, and it became clear that his wrist still wasn't healed enough to hold up to their captain. His heart had sunk at the way Eiji had looked at him when he realized he had been hiding his injury. It had sunk even more when Eiji wouldn't even look at him after the match.

It still aches now; a dull pain that squeezes in on him as a counterpoint to the sharper pain throbbing in his hand. He's alone in his room now with an ice pack and his homework, hoping the pain will dull enough he can focus, or that focusing on numbers and dates will distract him from the pain.

Neither is working well when Tezuka walks in. He knocks first, but it's more a cursory nod to protocol than anything else. He doesn't even wait for Oishi's reply before he enters.

Oishi wonders how he got in. He probably charmed his way past Oishi's mother, as he usually did. Something about the glasses and the stern visage seemed to charm him into most places (and out of most sticky situations) when Oishi's family was involved.

Tezuka was holding a plastic bag from the pharmacy. He put it down on Oishi's bed and took out a wrist brace.

Oishi started to protest. His wrist was largely healed now; he didn't need (or want) anything so obvious to draw attention to it. Tezuka ignored his protests and took his injured wrist, sliding it into the fabric and tightening the velcro.

Oishi tried to pretend it was Tezuka's firm grip immobilizing his wrist, but he could only maintain that for as long as Tezuka was holding his hand. The minute he let go, it hit him just how little he could move his wrist in the brace. There was no way he could play tennis like this. It was stiff, and tight, and wrong, and it felt like it was choking him.

His chest seized up just as tight and stiff as his now-trapped wrist. He tried to rip the brace off, but Tezuka caught his hands.

"Leave it," Tezuka ordered. "Five days. Then see how it feels."

With that Tezuka left, leaving Oishi alone with the wrist brace he already hated. Oishi tried to focus on the memory of Tezuka's hands on his instead. He just had to hold onto that feeling until his wrist healed. He could do this. He'd made it...almost five seconds already.
marks: also still funny (buchou)

Just a million more seconds to go, Oishi!!

Ah, poor baby. This part of canon always breaks my heart and this does too, but in a good way. THANK YOU FOR FILLING IT AND NOT KILLING OISHI!!!

I'm glad you liked it! This part of canon hurts, Tezuka in general usually hurts, and Promise Pair does too. *wraps them all up in blankets for good measure*
