Bonus Round 2: Images

Bonus Round 2: Images

Back by popular demand, this round uses official canon artwork as fodder for speculation and extrapolation.
Please read the rules carefully before posting!

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 23 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a canon screencap from one of our nominated fandoms along with a ship. Screencaps can be from the anime or manga, as well as any other kind of offshoot media, e.g. official art, drama CD covers, light novel illustrations, magazine covers, photos from stage plays, and/or caps from games.
    • Doujinshi, fan-made games or any other fan-created work should not be prompted, even if you receive permission. Only prompt official, canon artwork.
    • Keep your prompt concise. Don't prompt a whole manga chapter, for example.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Abe & Tajima). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Abe/Tajima). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
    • Upload the cap somewhere (imgur works well) and post here with the images themselves or a link to them. Including a text-only summary of the image is encouraged.
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work inspired by the cap.
    • Fills can be directly connected to the cap, e.g. panel redraws or writing fic that fleshes out the moment that was capped or that fleshes out what happened directly before/after, but fills can also be more indirectly linked. As long as the work is somehow inspired by the cap, it counts.
    • Fills that are too long to fit in a single comment should have the rest of the fill placed as replies to the original fill comment. The subjects of these extra comments should be something like "part 2 of X" or "continued."
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Posts not using this format will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, regardless of what they contain. They, like all comments in this community, are subject to the code of conduct.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

violence, death? ; word count:654

There is a heavy weight colliding with his side, efficiently cutting off his escape by slamming him into the wall. He grunts at the hard contact, a flash of pain going through his shoulder as it gets crushed behind his back.

"Thought you could get past me, Takigawa?"

The words are spat out, equally prideful and sour, and Chris can't bite down his smile. The man pining him to the wall hasn't changed much in 5 years: same strength, same bitterness, same scarily accurate intuition.

Of course he was going to run into Zaizen. Only he could find him in another country during a top-secret mission while working with a different organization. Forget the past and it will come back to you sprinting like the Devil himself is at its tail.

He lets out a breathless chuckle, making his assailant's eyes shine bright with anger, two flames burning this blue color fire has when it's awfully hot.

Danger.

"I wouldn't dream of it." Oil on fire. The other man snarls and adjusts his position and Chris has to refrain a pained whimper as his shoulder protests.

He needs to save some time. His back-up is only minutes away and if he plans things carefully, if he finds a way to slip away, he should still be able to get downstairs before they do. The confidential papers are folded in his inside pocket, a reminder of the seven million dollars at stake here. He needs to get out, but evading Zaizen's scrupulous watch now that he has caught him won't be an easy task.

"How did you know I was here?" He asks as a tentative of distraction, cheek pressing against the wall. He has no real interest in the answer, or rather it doesn't matter now nor is it surprising that it is Zaizen that stood in his path as the last hurdle before the success of his mission.

"It's my duty to finish you off," he states, cold and more collected than Chris would have thought, tightening his grip. He raises an eyebrow nonetheless. "I didn't know you felt such a strong sense of obligation towards me, Zaizen."

He does have a good idea though. Of Zaizen's sense of responsibility for him, the rogue, the deserter, the ex-partner, ex-friend, ex a lot of things, most of which could have been but some that were, flesh and bones and heat and lips, all of it still replaying in his mind some nights when he can't sleep.

He is turned around in a rough motion, finally facing Zaizen properly. The sharp kiss of steel at his throat stings but his blood sings when lips collides with his, brief, fiery, and brutal like a warning.

"I won't make the same mistake twice," Zaizen grits out as he pulls away.

A revolver is for business, a switchblade only for personal matters. The knife digs in his skin, but the hand holding it is trembling.

"So this is how it is, huh," Chris murmurs.

There is hurt, anger, and sadness, a whirlwind of emotions on rare display on Zaizen's features.

It doesn't last long but that's the opening he had been waiting for. Chris lurches forward with all his strength, taking his opponent by surprise. As soon as Zaizen takes an inevitable step back, a split second of hesitation, Chris kicks and aims for his knee.

It's taking advantage of an enemy's weakness, he tells himself as Zaizen howls in pain and lets him go.

Wasting no time, Chris makes a run for the emergency exit. He hears a scream of rage behind him and suddenly there are strong arms around his waist, turning him around before Zaizen tackles him properly, hurling him in direction of the window.

Fingers are painfully digging in his shoulder.

The window shatters with a deafening noise and the wind screams in their ears as they whirl down into the night below.

DDDD: You sketched out their past in a really great way - the bit about the revolver for business and the switchblade for personal matters, the hesitation in Zaizen's actions - I WAS SO INVESTED.

'He does have a good idea though. Of Zaizen's sense of responsibility for him, the rogue, the deserter, the ex-partner, ex-friend, ex a lot of things, most of which could have been but some that were, flesh and bones and heat and lips, all of it still replaying in his mind some nights when he can't sleep.'
Ouch, this one hurt >.< I really liked it as a sentence, and where you had it in the piece, that switch to a more personal tone in the latter half. And Chris taking advantage of Zaizen's weaknesses is - pain. Ow.

I really liked this it's really gritty and intense :DD
