Bonus Round 7: Recs

Bonus Round 7: Recs

You've created so much during this event, so here's a round to celebrate each other's achievements!

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 24 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

  • Recommend at least three fanworks from main or bonus rounds. Your recommendations don’t have to be connected in any way, and you do not need permission to recommend a work.
  • Don't rec your own work. You can recommend things created by your own team, but please spread the love to other teams too.
  • Each recommendation must include at least two sentences explaining why that fanwork is awesome. Please use the format specified below.
  • You may recommend as many works as you like, as long as they are posted separately in groups of at least three.
  • There will be no prompts for this round. Simply post each fill/recommendation list as a comment in response to this post.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Bonus round shenanigans all happen in the comments below. Brand-new works only, please.

Format your comment in the following way:

If FILLING (all teams):
  • Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team you belong to
  • Copy and paste the following form into a comment and fill it out. Delete things in brackets, and leave the HTML alone.

Posts not using this format will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, regardless of what they contain. They, like all comments in this community, are subject to the code of conduct.

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many fills as you want!

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

Theme: Chihayafuru OT3 Fic Fills

Title: Taichi/Chihaya/Arata as Endgame
Creator(s): [personal profile] kiyala

Major Tags: none
Why is this work awesome?: I adore this OT3 more than any other ship from the series and this fic really captures what I like about it: Chihaya as the center, the thing that both Taichi and Arata will orient by, but where they're also very aware of each other. I love that in a way Taichi and Arata act proactively, because they each confess to Chihaya off-screen, but that she's the one who has to "start it," she's the one who makes this conclusion and brings them together to tell them, she's choosing both. And I really love that Taichi and Arata's reactions to this are so telling of their character, and that Taichi is the one more uncertain with the new situation. It's just a really great capturing of that moment when their relationship shifts from what it was to something recognized as romantic, and I love that they're committed to making it work.

Title: Chihaya and Arata Size Taichi's Wedding Ring

Why is this work awesome?: I love this fic for the way it balances Taichi and Arata and Chihaya's relationship. I love that Chihaya is usually the most exciteable one but here Arata is just as eager as she is; I love that Taichi is the one most uncertain in their relationship, most likely to lose confidence, and that his partners are proposing to him in part to show him how much he is wanted. There's so much happiness bubbling up in this story, making it a very feel-good read.

Title: Chihaya Moves Away From Arata and Taichi

Why is this work awesome?: I love this entire premise for the way it comes at one of my favorite opinions about the series: Chihaya is the glue between Taichi and Arata, the binding force who originally brought them together, so what would happen if she was the one to leave? It's really subtle in its execution and clever in what it manages to say about the characters, in how it shows Taichi struggling between Chihaya who says she's coming back, one day, but hasn't, and Arata who is still present but feels absent. The prose is spare and careful and a delight to read, and I very much enjoyed it.
