Bonus Round 7: Recs

Bonus Round 7: Recs

You've created so much during this event, so here's a round to celebrate each other's achievements!

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 24 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

  • Recommend at least three fanworks from main or bonus rounds. Your recommendations don’t have to be connected in any way, and you do not need permission to recommend a work.
  • Don't rec your own work. You can recommend things created by your own team, but please spread the love to other teams too.
  • Each recommendation must include at least two sentences explaining why that fanwork is awesome. Please use the format specified below.
  • You may recommend as many works as you like, as long as they are posted separately in groups of at least three.
  • There will be no prompts for this round. Simply post each fill/recommendation list as a comment in response to this post.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Bonus round shenanigans all happen in the comments below. Brand-new works only, please.

Format your comment in the following way:

If FILLING (all teams):
  • Replace [YOUR SHIP] with the name of the team you belong to
  • Copy and paste the following form into a comment and fill it out. Delete things in brackets, and leave the HTML alone.

Posts not using this format will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, regardless of what they contain. They, like all comments in this community, are subject to the code of conduct.

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many fills as you want!

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

Theme: AbeMiha Oofuri Fic Fills

Title: Christmas Party Confession
Creator(s): [personal profile] putsch
Rating: G
Major Tags: alcohol, drunk silliness
Why is this work awesome?: This fic is such a cute little moment between Abe and Mihashi. I love that Abe is the helicopter mom of the party, the one who scoffs at the alcohol and who insists on keeping an eye on Mihashi so he doesn't hurt himself because of drinking. I love how natural Mihashi's confession is, telling Abe he's the best, telling Abe that he likes him. It feels soft and good and makes me smile.

Title: Abemiha Drunk Confession
Creator(s): [personal profile] kiyala
Rating: G
Major Tags: alcohol
Why is this work awesome?: I love the way Kii chose to come at this prompt, framing Abe and Mihashi's drinking with a reunion of their team where they're all catching up. I love that everyone just unanimously leaves Mihashi and Abe with each other to get home, pushing them together through an assumption that's more unconscious than anything. I love seeing the hints of how Abe and Mihashi have both grown and the ways Abe is still awkward, but the thing I like best of all is honestly the fact that Abe is not willing to accept a drunk confession. He wants Mihashi to tell him when he's sober, and with these two characters who've dealt a lot with people's mistreatment in the past, this consideration feels so good and important.

Title: Mihashi Clicker Trains Abe
Creator(s): [personal profile] outstretched
Rating: G
Major Tags: canon-typical verbal abuse/harassment, emotional manipulation
Why is this work awesome?: See those tags? In all seriousness, don't pay them too much mind; this is nothing more intense than the sort of dialogue seen in canon, and the sort of controlling catcher behavior Abe is known to exhibit. This premise is exactly what I wanted to see and what I love best of all is how Mihashi delights in it, how pleased he is to have this little trick up his sleeve to discourage Abe from shouting. The characterization is spot on in the best insightful ways and Clover's prose is gorgeous as always, with clever langauge and sentences that fit together in just the right way. It's a story about Mihashi wanting to give Abe positive reinforcement, and the way that comes through in the romance warms the heart in this particular fraught way that slowly blossoms into something softer.
