Bonus Round 3: FSTs

FSTs

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM EDT on 8 July. Late comments are screened and will not receive points.

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

Posts not using this format will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, regardless of what they contain. They, like all comments in this community, are subject to the code of conduct.

If you see anyone breaking the code of conduct (e.g., causing drama, being rude) anywhere (not just DW), please contact the mods immediately.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

youichi’s losing his breath in the place where time stopped, three years ago. he’s come this far, with a sheaf of smudged pencil drawings in his backpack and the faint echo of a voice, someone’s voice, in his ears. he’s been chasing clues and ghosts for days, unable to believe a town that he’d known so well, a town he’d known intimately to the point he could call it a sort of home, is gone.

the basin’s edge runs a perfect ring around the god’s house; the loops of thread around youichi’s wrist and the faint outline of someone’s face that he can’t possibly recognize trap him here, too, rings upon rings, loops knotting loops. his head is cloudy, and he can barely sense a glimmering thread of possibility where the name meant

-- nothing.

youichi blinks. he shifts, from one foot to the other, impatient with himself. a soft breeze tickles his face, as if asking him to turn around, pushing him back to another point in the circle. the god's house, that massive, gnarled tree curled into itself like it had decided to provide its own shelter, waves its branches in the wind. youichi almost expects it to make a sound, the rustling noise of heavy cloth in movement, during a slow, ceremonial dance. yes, he is here for a reason.

everything bleeds together here. the sun is setting, but it almost looks like dawn; time stops in its tracks, of runs so fast it blurs itself. youichi looks down at the natural valley, the lake, and wonders if that tree's been there since the beginning, or if it's always grown up old. he hears footsteps that don't match his own, echoing through time and space, and youichi runs toward the sound.

it pulls at him, the nameless, faceless sensation of anticipation, as if something perfect and unseen might be waiting for him at the end of the running, or some missing half of the whole youichi had thought he was would be there, waiting at some unmarked finish line.

(that's stupid. if i was the other half of you, and you're the one for me, why would i ever stand still waiting in one place for you?)

he’s not sure why he’s so certain, but something in him says this is important, potentially life-changingly earth-shattering. as if he’s been waiting for years himself for this one moment, for his path to cross with someone else’s, who had worked just as hard to get to where he is now. he thinks he can feel the curve of a lovely smile, and a voice so familiar it hurts to hear it.

(you’re slow.)
