Bonus Round 3: FSTs

FSTs

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM EDT on 8 July. Late comments are screened and will not receive points.

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

Inui, Kaidou, and baby Kinjou.

***

Inui wasn't really sure what to do with a child. He certainly hadn't planned for this eventuality, at least not until it happened to him. Kaidou was perhaps a little more certain, but even then, there was a difference between a child that was planned for and child that happened with little warning, and on top of that, the added challenge of suddenly finding oneself a single parent.

Any of that would have been enough to shake most people, but to have it all occur in the context of a much larger mission rattled even Kaidou. Inui had rarely seen Kaidou rattled before, and it wasn't something he hoped to see again any time soon.

There was no dwelling too much on what had been though, at least not if he wanted to maintain his sanity for however long it took Kaidou to return. His biggest priority needed to be on the screaming child in his arms, and how to make it stop this time. Unlike Kaidou, he we completely and utterly prepared for parenting, the most he had experienced before being the booklets they made everyone read back when he was a teenager. None of which adequately prepared him for finding himself suddenly in possession of a screaming child in a cabin in the middle of nowhere with the child's father gone for an indeterminate amount of time.

And they were so far off the grid that he couldn't even go online to look for suggestions to help. That in and of itself was disconcerting enough to someone so used to being connected 24/7 the way he was. But he thought that children might be like animals in that they could sense fear, or at least he thought he had heard that once, so his first priority needed to be to stop himself from giving in to the fear.

He turned, as he always did, to reciting the digits of pi to calm himself. There was something soothing to them, almost like an irregular lullaby, and he had thousands of digits memorized, plenty to keep him going even if the baby continued to scream for hours.

Luckily, Kinjou didn't cry for that long, falling asleep after only a few hundred digits in. Inui didn't want to risk waking Kinjou though, so he kept going, reciting the numbers until he fell into an uneasy sleep himself, and picking up again where he left off the next morning when Kinjou woke him with his cries.

He was still reciting pi when Kaidou finally returned, some ten thousand digits later. Kaidou was dirty and bruised but otherwise no worse for the wear, and he laughed when he heard Inui's makeshift lullaby. It was a hollow, more strained than usual, but a sound Inui was glad to hear nonetheless, having feared he would never hear it again.

That night, Kaidou took over the lullabies, lulling both Inui and Kinjou to sleep with his rough voice.
