When they find us, at first they wonder which parts are yours, mine. Like a tangled chain we were locked together, rusting in the stormy sea, two parts of a machine, now broken.
But the grey-blue waves that rolled unseeing above us look something like your eyes, crinkling in an unflattering smile. My heart yelled-- mine! yours, two parts of one machine.
Our fingers twined, shaky and nervous and perfect like the shining stars.
In a rare romantic moment you once said my hair was like moonlight.
It was night when we sank, the storm in your eyes, moon in my hair--
