Isashiki Jun had a problem. It was a problem that had been festering since his first year at Seidou, though he always did his best at ignoring it. But over the last two years it had become so great a problem that ignoring it just wasn't cutting it anymore.
The problem? Captain of the Seidou baseball team, Yuki Tetsuya. It wasn't a problem of getting along or working well on the field. They were always in sync with each other and were the best of friends. This is where Jun's problem begins.
He'd always known, deep down, that his feelings for Tetsu were more than that of a good friend, more than a close friend. He could just never bring himself to admitting as much to himself. He'd brush off the butterflies in his stomach when his phone would buzz with a early morning text. Screen shining so bright in the darkness of his room he had to squint, the illuminated name Tetsu never failed to make him smile.
He tried to tell himself it was because he'd never had a friend like Tetsu before. He'd never been able to confide in or laugh with someone like Tetsu before. (he'd never had such a hard time keeping his eyes off someone) Tetsu, who was the most attentive listener Jun had ever encountered. He would talk Tetsu's ear off and Tetsu always remained engaged and fully immersed in the conversations. (this constantly made Jun feel guilty when he daydreamed during some of Tetsu's longer stories)
Tetsu who always remembered Jun's birthday and knew exactly what to get him. (that perfect smile on his face when Jun opened up his gift) From a distance he didn't seem like the type who would be a good gift giver, but Jun was convinced he was one of the best.
Tetsu had once stayed behind at Seidou during holiday break over Christmas and New Years when Jun's family plans fell through and he wasn't able to go home. They'd somehow gotten their hands on some alcohol and spent half their break buzzed, laughing late into the night. Their shoulders had bumped more than usual and Jun was positive they were both trying to get away with 'accidental' touches. Blaming it on the alcohol, of course. Jun is pretty sure that's when he lost control of his little Problem.
He knew he lost control of his Problem when he woke up one night, hair matted to his forehead with sweat and finding himself in need of a change of underwear. Racking his brain, it wasn't long before he remembered what exactly made his pants so sticky. (Tetsu's body on his, eyes dark, muscles tense and lips soft...) His face grew hotter as he made his way to the bathroom to clean up, embarrassed, but still strangely turned on.
As weeks rolled into months, he couldn't take the torment any longer. He needed to admit his feelings to someone other then himself. (and especially other than Tetsu) Then he would know if they were real or not. He thought if he said them aloud (or over text) to a trusted friend, the conflict in him would end and he would be free, one way or another.
That is the thought that drove him to opening his phone and sending a new text message to a fellow third year. A trusted friend and teammate. It was a risk, but one he knew was necessary. The red-hot ache for his captain had grown too strong and threatened to burn out of control.

Jun had to set his phone down and process what had just happened. Not only had he admitted to Ryousuke that he'd been attracted to men before, he admitted to being in love. He'd thrown in the part about it only being a few weeks because he was too terrified to admit it had been even longer.
Had he been wasting time by not allowing himself to admit that he loved Tetsu? Or even worse, now that he could clearly define his own feelings, would Tetsu return them? He thought back to those few nights over holiday break and he was certain Tetsu felt the same.
But there was only one way to find out for good. He needed to pour his feelings out into the open and confess to Tetsu as soon as the season ended.
