Kuroo Tetsurou/Tsukishima Kei Tags: None Word count: 404, not including images with text Remix of doxian's Kuroo/Tsukki fill from BR3. (Where Tsukki is a little more of a romantic than I expected him to be, tbh).
It's been weeks since Kuroo gave him the key, but Tsukishima still hasn't said anything about it. He carries it around on his keychain and jingles it ever so casually in front of Kuroo's eyes - yet he still doesn't bring it up.
Kuroo pretends that this doesn't bother him; he knows Tsukishima needs his time and space, but he can’t deny that it doesn’t hurt him a little bit when Tsukishima doesn’t even acknowledge the fact that Kuroo gave him a key to his apartment. But again, Kei is Kei, and Kuroo knows that Tsukishima will come to eventually, at his own pace.
It’s been … maybe four years since they first started dating, while Tsukishima was still in high school. Kuroo remembers the first time he talked to Tsukishima properly, at the Training Camp. A vivid image of Tsukishima practicing his blocks with Bokuto and Akaashi flashes in Kuroo’s mind and he sighs fondly, remembering how alluring he had found Tsukishima’s seemingly cold attitude.
“Psst,” Bokuto nudges him during their lecture. Kuroo had been thinking about Tsukishima - again - and had evidently forgotten that he was in a class. “Dude, what’s wrong?”
“Huh?” Kuroo lifts his head to face his friend. He didn’t think that his worry had shown on his face.
“You look a bit out of it,” replies Bokuto as he takes down some notes.
“‘m fine,” Kuroo tells him, cracking a smile that fails to reach his eyes. Bokuto stares at him with a look that says, ‘Clearly you’re not fine’ but he chooses not to say anything about it.
It’s then when he receives a text message from Tsukishima.
“Message from the boyf?” inquires Bokuto, his eyes still on the lecturer. Kuroo looks down at the message and smiles to himself. Finally, it appeared that his boyfriend had decided to use the key.
“Yeah” is all he says as he continues to message Tsukishima. He can’t help but feel slightly agitated, and not because he’s worried the professor will yell at him for using his phone; rather, Kuroo’s mind busies itself with the idea that Tsukishima is inside his apartment now, going through his stuff. (Not that he minds about that in the slightest, but still. Tsukishima was in his apartment, all by himself).
Kuroo puts his phone away as he finally starts taking down some notes about exercise physiology. He had never felt more inclined to do his schoolwork.
