tick tock
In each of our hearts is a clock: each tick speaks of inevitability while every other tocks is a croak, bemoaning all our nearing ends and all our distant beginnings.
It’s sort of odd, isn’t it? How the very thing that keeps us alive betrays us by being a tiny countdown for whatever remains of our time.
Still, here is a fact of life: death is what it is— death but with every old passing comes every new rebirth, and our love may be a dead thing; a teetering off-the-ledge, but love is what love is so, I’m here with you until our heartbeats turn off.
