Her cheerful demeanour, the way that she clearly cares about all of her friends from the things she tells him about Muse whenever she drops by the store, the way she's always just as eager to hear about Sohoku cycling club. She's great to talk to and he's a little too aware of the fact that he has a bit of a crush on her. If he had any hope of denying that, it's been thoroughly squashed ever since he heard her singing a song that was composed especially for him, about her standing by his side.
Ever since then, he feels like he's been tripping over his feelings for her a little more awkwardly and obviously, but it hasn't changed a single thing about the way she treats him. She's always happy to see him, always happy to talk to him, and she always spends longer at the bakery than she strictly needs to, after she's finished making her purchases for the day.
Jin refuses to let himself hope, and it doesn't matter anyway. Honoka is the bakery's top customer, and she's always welcome here. Jin would never want to do anything that would make her uncomfortable or reluctant to drop by. She doesn't mind the way that he'll sometimes feel himself blushing when they're talking to each other, or the way that he'll sometimes stammer when he's caught up by just how radiant she looks that particular day.
He knows that she's amazing, and not like anyone else he's ever met, and when he makes up an excuse to make a special custom bread for her, she only confirms the fact.
It wouldn't take just anyone to request a custom bread with all of her friends' faces on it. Jin likes a challenge, and as he takes the picture of Honoka and the rest of Muse from her hands to take a better look, he knows that he's going to do everything he can to make her dreams come true.
Maybe, when Honoka tastes the bread, some of his feelings for her will get through, too.
