omg, I'm so happy you liked the tree fic! I didn't really expect anyone to notice that one but it has a happy little place in my psyche. I think a lot about how trees are some of the largest and longest-lived organisms on the planet, and the more I think about it, the more it seems far-fetched to me to assume that they don't have any kind of awareness or consciousness. It's kind of fanciful and there's no evidence to support the idea, but it's still something I think about a lot. So I wanted to put that in a fic. I'm really glad you read and enjoyed it :)
