I like how Alex does this thing where only part of the image will be in focus, like a photograph. It somehow adds so much depth to the picture, and makes it even more atmospheric, and when it's combined with a restricted palette like this, it's just so perfect. Haruna's smile is really cute here, as is his little thought bubble Mihashi (of course he'd remember Mihashi with this sort of expression on his face)

Alex is so good at punching me right in the gut with how much emotion is packed into each and every single drawing, and this is no different. Abe gritting his teeth together, his arms wrapped entirely around Mihashi, the way Mihashi is just clinging to him, gravitating to him so the tops of their bodies are pressed together even though they're standing apart. It captures their relationship so well, and this feels like such a realistic reaction for both of them to have. It's so lovely.
