Ship: Shin Seijuurou / or & Kobayakawa Sena Fandom: Eyeshield 21 Major Tags: None. Other Tags: Source material of AU has some serious issues with "magical natives" tropes. Please feel free to be better about that.
Prompt: Who's up for a Macross Zero AU?! I'm thinking maybe Shin as... Shin? (Seriously, that's his name.) And Sena as Mao, maybe with Mamori as Sara? But do whatever moves you!
Obligatory rundown on my show that most people here haven't seen: Prequel to the original Macross, set on Earth while the UN (yes, the UN) is at war with basically-Russia, but our heroes are in the South Pacific testing the newly designed "variable fighters" (later called Valkyries) when one non-sociable pilot named Shin crashes on a special island where the natives' history may hold the key to some artifacts left by the alien culture (Protoculture) that created humanity aeons ago. Before shit takes a right turn for the apocalyptic, Shin is in a mini love triangle with the island's head priestess Sara (who has magical singing powers because this is Macross) and Sara's tiny scamp of a little sister, Mao (who dreams of going to the big city). They teach him to respect the colors of the wind, as it were.
