Thank you for listening to the etude <3 I wanted Kita to play a piece that felt a little menacing, but in a deceptively pleasant way, not quite so flagrantly dramatic as like, a Russian composer haha, and Liszt just fell so perfectly into place especially because the insane technical difficulty just felt very right for Kita to me. And especially this piece, I LOVE the rise and fall of the main theme. So I chose it very deliberately!
I REALLY HAD A BLAST WRITING SUBTLY OMINOUS KITA!!! and yes the backstory in my head was... tbh not fully fleshed out and I wanted to leave it as a vague hint anyway but. yes, the twins did not separate by choice ;;;
that last line was one of the first I wrote and I built the rest of it up towards that line, I'm so glad it worked :') thank you for the bait it well and truly destroyed me
