It occurs to them, a little too late, that neither of them have any idea of what they're doing.
Tooru thought that it would be okay, that it wouldn't matter that he has no idea what he's getting into with his first ever kiss because at least it's with Hajime, and at least it's something that they can both work out together. Now, with their lips pressed together and Tooru's hands resting on his knees as they both kneel on the floor of his room, it doesn't feel quite as easy as he let himself believe it would be.
Hajime pulls back, and Tooru almost surges forward to keep their lips joined out of fear that he's moving away because he's decided that he doesn't want to do this any more. Tooru holds still though, blinking his eyes open as Hajime sits back on the floor. Tooru takes a deep breath, licking his lips, and sits back down as well, giving Hajime an embarrassed smile.
"Kissing is weird," Hajime mutters, but then he's leaning forward again, not kneeling up this time but holding himself up on his hands and knees, so he can lean across the space between them, bumping another clumsy kiss to Tooru's lips. He hums quietly. "But it feels nice?"
"Yeah," Tooru says against Hajime's mouth, and their lips brush against each other as he forms the word. That feels weird too. He leans back enough that he can speak properly, letting out a small, nervous laugh as he does. "I thought this would be… I don't know. Easier. Better."
"It's still good," Hajime murmurs, and kisses Tooru again. "I don't mind it. You weren't good at volleyball when you first started either, you know."
Tooru smiles slowly. "Are you expecting me to get as good at kissing as I am at volleyball, Iwa-chan?"
Hajime rolls his eyes, but his ears turn a little pink. "That's not what I meant. It's just that, well, this is something else that we can do together, right? Something we can practice with each other until we're both better."
"And you want to," Tooru realises, smiling as Hajime takes his face in both hands.
"Yeah," Hajime says softly, pulling Tooru close and giving him a slower, lingering kiss this time, just keeping their lips pressed together for a long time before finally pulling back. "I really want to try."

Tooru beams. "Me too."
