Warnings for crippling sports injury, depression, Aomine being a jerk! This kinda went in the wrong direction….

"Find another sport," Kuroko suggested and Aomine glared at him as if Kuroko just told Aomine to shoot Tetsuya #2.
"Even if I wanted to find another sport," Aomine snapped, "It wouldn't be basketball. And how many sports are there where I wouldn't have to use my legs?"
"E-sports," Kuroko said so promptly that Aomine knew Kuroko had been thinking and planning already. "They're very popular. Your physical condition only matters for your hands and arms there."
"I'm not going to play a video game professionally, Tetsu," Aomine said through gritted teeth. "That's for geeks and besides, you have to be young for that. I'm too old."
"You could still try," Kuroko said patiently. "There's a new MMO called Glory that's very popular. At least it'd give you something to do while you recuperate."
"Recuperate implies that I'm going to get better," Amine said, unable to stop himself from picking fights with Kuroko even though he knew that his boyfriend didn't deserve it. "I'm not. My leg's shot and it's going to stay that way for the rest of my lie."
Kuroko turned around and marched out of the room. For a second, Aomine wondered if he'd said too much and that would be the straw that finally made Kuroko leave him but when Kuroko returned, he was carrying his own laptop with an Ethernet cable plugged into the side.
"Here," he said as he set it down on Aomine's lap. "At least try it. Then you'll have something solid to explain why it won't work. I already loaded up an account card but you'll get to create the champion yourself."
"This is stupid," Aomine grumbled but he set his hand on the mouse anyway. Kuroko found a hardback book and slid it under the mouse to use as a mousepad.
Five minutes later, Aomine was engrssed in trying to make a character that looked as much like himself as possible.
Five hours later, Aomine was still playing.

"When I announced my retirement from professional basketball, I thought that it was the end of my life," Aomine said, adjusting his collar nervously. Press conferences always made him so nervous but his new team insisted that with his star power, he had to give one and get the team more publicity. Momoi had agreed with them and more damningly, so had Kuroko.
He coughed and continued, "I couldn't imagine living if I couldn't play. And then my boyfriend, Tetsu - Kuroko Tetsuya - told me to try competitive e-sports. I didn't think I'd like it. I didn't even want to try it. But here I am, signing on with Team Happy. I hope you will support us through the upcoming season."
His polite speech wasn't very good still but behind the stunned reporters (they'd no doubt been expecting an announcement he was returning to basketball), he could see Momoi and Kuroko starting to clap.
He still had the both of them. Losing basketball had been bearable, after all, with the two of them standing by his side.

Now it was time to conquer the world of GLORY.
