It occurs to Yahaba, when he's snuggling in bed with Kyoutani one lazy afternoon, that he's messed up somewhere.
"Hold on, hold on," he says, sitting up in bed and earning a low noise of protest from Kyoutani. "This isn't… wait. Hold on."
"Uh." Kyoutani wraps his arm around Yahaba's waist, holding him. "Okay?"
"You," Yahaba says accusingly. "I'm not supposed to like you."
"Oh." Kyoutani drops his arm and rolls onto his back, like he's just submitting to the world, at large. "This again."
"We're enemies," Yahaba points out. "With a capital E and everything. Enemies."
"You're a stubborn ass," Kyoutani tells him.
"You're a stubborn ass. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?"
"No, but I kiss you," Kyoutani replies. "And you like it."
"I do not," Yahaba protests, and Kyoutani just gives their bedroom a pointed look.
Their bedroom. Because they're living together. Because they've been dating since their second year of high school.
Yahaba is shockingly bad at this whole Enemy thing.
"Babe," Kyoutani sighs. "I get it. I really do. Sometimes, I have no idea how I put up with you either."
"Excuse you, I'm a fucking delight," Yahaba snaps.
Kyoutani laughs, and he doesn't stop laughing. Yahaba doesn't know whether to be pleased or offended, because on one hand, Kyoutani's laugh is really cute but on the other, Kyoutani's laugh is really fucking cute.
"Stop it," Yahaba says, shoving weakly at his boyfriend's shoulder. "Fine. You've made your point."
Kyoutani is still laughing, and he's wrapped his arm around Yahaba's waist again. It feels so secure, so fond, that Yahaba can't help but melt into it, lying back down again and wrapping his arm around Kyoutani in return.
"Look," Kyoutani says, when his laughter finally subsides, and he's wiping tears from the corners of his eyes. "To be fair, last time, I was the one who freaked out about this."
"You did that silent, confused thing," Yahaba remembers. "I couldn't get a word out of you for hours and you just stared at me."
"I stare at you a lot."
Yahaba snorts. "Not like that. It reminded me of high school, when you wouldn't talk much at all but you'd convey whole conversations just by staring at the back of my head."
"You liked that," Kyoutani points out. "You liked me back then, too."
"Did not."
"You were dating me."
"That doesn't prove anything," Yahaba huffs.
Kyoutani snorts quietly, pressing a kiss to Yahaba's lips. "Uh huh. Sure thing."
