This is a very fluffy ship but I’m not actually good at writing fluff so zombie AU. Blood, gore, violence, death, etc.

For Abe, the world ends at 3:28PM on a Thursday afternoon when he and Mihashi are waiting to catch the train back from college to the small apartment they share. It’s a sunny day, wispy clouds streaming through a brilliant blue sky, and Abe’s considering the pros and cons of going out for ice cream when the train pulls in.
It whizzes past in a blur of grey that he barely pays attention to but Mihashi suddenly tenses next to him and grabs his hand.
“Run!” Mihashi gives no explanation why, just yanks at Abe’s hand so hard that Abe has to move or fall over.
“What? Why?” He lets Mihashi push a path through the waiting commuters, grateful it’s not one of the times of day when the platform is crowded, and stumbles after him.
Suddenly, screaming starts up and everyone starts surging away from the train. Abe glances back for just a second and he sees that there’s something wrong with the figures inside the train.
They’re covered in blood, especially near their mouths and--
The automatic doors open and zombies spill out onto the platform.
The screaming intensifies as everyone tries to rush down the stairs, down the escalators, into the elevators - anywhere that’s not the platform. There’s so much chaos that they’re all jamming each other.
Anyone who falls gets trampled underfoot.
Zombie outbreaks are comparatively rare but everyone’s been drilled in what to do. It’s a pity that the human reaction of panic overwhelms reason so easily.
“The roof,” Mihashi yells, pointing at the curved, self-contained roofs over the areas for the seats. Abe understands immediately and together, they struggle their way to the nearest support structure.
Mihashi swarms up the pillar with Abe quickly following until they’re seated on comparative safety.
Abe’s clutching an umbrella and when Mihashi gives him a confused look, Abe explains, “To hit the zombies with if anyone infected climbs up here.”
Zombies can’t climb. Humans in the process of conversion.
There’s screaming all around them but Mihashi manages to smile at Abe. He puts his hand in Abe’s and they scoot to the very middle of the roof. They’re safe. All they can do now is wait for the rescue helicopters to come and lift them off before the cleanup crew sprays the whole area with the special extra-strength foam that dissolves zombies like sugar in hot water.
They’re safe, Abe tells himself, and shuts his eyes tightly against the carnage below.
