Kagami is the furthest thing from smooth that Aomine wants to be offended by it. He is offended, on some level, considering that he's standing there on an empty basketball court, after Kagami kissed him, freaked out, and then ran for it, apparently in so much of a hurry to get away that he didn't even stop to pick up the shoe that fell off in his hurry.
Aomine bends to pick it up and for a wild moment, considers just keeping it. Technically, it's his shoe anyway. It's part of the pair that Momoi made him give up. That would be weird though, and probably even weirder now that they've kissed. He should do something, probably; chase Kagami down and return his shoe, or return his kiss, or maybe even do both.
Instead, he's just standing there, his mind still trying to wrap itself around the fact that Kagami's kissed him in the first place. They were playing a one on one, as usual. There was nothing out of ordinary about this game, nothing to even signal that maybe Kagami would try to kiss him at the end of it. But here they are, and Aomine is still stuck standing there in the basketball court with his indecision.
"Fuck," he mutters to himself, and sprints after Kagami.
They've been playing together for long enough that Aomine is pretty sure that he understands the way Kagami thinks. If he can predict Kagami's moves when they're in the middle of a game, then surely it won't be that difficult to figure out where to find him. He stops at the corner of the street, looking around. He knows there's a Maji Burger just another street down, but Kagami's still missing his shoe. He'd probably be too mortified to walk in there with just one shoe, to hide from Aomine until the coast was clear. He'd probably go right home instead, and Aomine doesn't have to think twice before he's heading there, running through the streets, past pedestrians walking too slowly for his liking, until he's standing at Kagami's door, hunched over and panting, still holding onto Kagami's shoe.
He knocks loudly and waits. He'd hold his breath, if he didn't need it so badly. Ideally, he'd be better than a sweaty, panting mess on Kagami's doorstep but, well. Kagami's the one who ran in the first place. He's just going to have to deal.
Kagami finally opens the door, just a crack so he can peer through, and then opening it further. "Uh. Hey."
Aomine sighs heavily, walking into Kagami's apartment and dropping the shoe by the door. "You're a real asshole, you know."
With that, he pulls Kagami close and kisses him back.
This time, neither of them run. It's an improvement.
