daichi and asahi were enjoying a mostly quiet afternoon, legs tangled on the couch as daichi poured over his notes and asahi reading whatever fantasy romance novel he'd picked up at the library this week.
it was a still, easy silence that was interrupted by the front door thrown open, clicking shut, and suga running into the living room holding brochures.
"we are going on vacation!" suga announces, to which daichi and asahi stare up at him with a blank stare.
"what?" they both say at the same time. this was... a little dangerous, because as they shared a glance and stared up at suga they couldn't tell if this was an idea he had (which they would inevitably end up doing) or something he already did without them knowing (which is just as likely).
"a vacation, you know, we go somewhere that isn't in this city for a few days and relax? do something new? explore?" suga shakes his head and sighs as he spreads the brochures out on the coffee table before them. "we haven't taken a proper one since our post-graduation road trip, and we deserve it."
all three of them went a little soft remembering that trip - they went all the way south to kyushu, stopping in sendai, tokyo, osaka, and every city in between. it was when they first realized that the three of them could be more than just friends, something long term and beautiful that none of them could really imagine their lives without.
"so!" suga says, getting them all back to the present. "this time we should do something bigger, at least something more fancy. i've narrowed it down - what do you guys think of thailand?"
"are you serious?" asahi looked a little pale, staring at the shiny beach photo in front of him. "that's, that's pretty far isn't it?"
"six hours by plane is nothing, asahi."
"can we even afford that?" daichi looks up at suga, knowing he must've considered it - even though they work, school and rent keeps them fairly far from a large amount of cash.
"i think we can." suga says firmly, "as long as we plan it right. thailand isn't a super expensive place, it's really just the tickets you know? and we can go to the beach, we can travel around, think about it, guyssss."
there was a long moment of quiet, as suga took in the apprehension on asahi's face and the way he could nearly hear the gears turning in daichi's head. suga really, really wanted this, no - he needed this. they all did. their lives were getting too crazy to not take the chance at a full blown break.
"okay." daichi says quietly, before he turns to asahi. "as long as we get it all planned out it'll be fine, yeah?"
"and we'll be together." suga adds, holding asahi's hand and kissing his knuckles. "so no matter what happens we'll have each other, okay?"
they could see the nerves bleeding out, his mouth turning to a smile. "it's really been a while since we did take a break, huh?"
"yessssssssssssss." suga could not sound more relieved if he tried.
