Bonus Round 2: Images

Please read the rules carefully before posting!
This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 23 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.
RULES
- Submit prompts in the form of a canon screencap from one of our nominated fandoms along with a ship. Screencaps can be from the anime or manga, as well as any other kind of offshoot media, e.g. official art, drama CD covers, light novel illustrations, magazine covers, photos from stage plays, and/or caps from games.
- Doujinshi, fan-made games or any other fan-created work should not be prompted, even if you receive permission. Only prompt official, canon artwork.
- Keep your prompt concise. Don't prompt a whole manga chapter, for example.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Abe & Tajima). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Abe/Tajima). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
- Upload the cap somewhere (imgur works well) and post here with the images themselves or a link to them. Including a text-only summary of the image is encouraged.
- Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work inspired by the cap.
- Fills can be directly connected to the cap, e.g. panel redraws or writing fic that fleshes out the moment that was capped or that fleshes out what happened directly before/after, but fills can also be more indirectly linked. As long as the work is somehow inspired by the cap, it counts.
- Fills that are too long to fit in a single comment should have the rest of the fill placed as replies to the original fill comment. The subjects of these extra comments should be something like "part 2 of X" or "continued."
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

FILL: TEAM IMAIZUMI SHUNSUKE/NARUKO SHOUKICHI, G
While Prince Akashi suspected it would be difficult to locate the legendary tactics master, he had underestimated the complexity of his quest from the beginning. Mibuchi and Hayama had offered to accompany him, but Akashi knew this was a journey he had to undertake on his own. As the crown prince of Rakuzan, navigating through the terrains of his own kingdom should be easy. Yet, unexpected encounters with other travelers and inclement weather slowed him down. By the time Akashi arrived at the town of Teiko, all he had left was his horse and another day’s worth of provisions.
Teiko is blooming with noise and travelers, so Akashi has no problem finding an inn that has room for both him and his horse. He expects this much from the town that borders three different kingdoms. Still, this makes his quest more difficult.
"I'm looking for a man named Nijimura," Akashi explains to the innkeeper, who squints at him.
"Who?"
"He is a scholar of tactics. I heard that he's been residing in Teiko for the past two years."
"Well, kid. My family has lived in this town for three generations. If there was someone by that name in the area, we'd know of him." The inn keeper soon becomes preoccupied by the arrival of another guest and leaves Akashi alone.
Akashi is not surprised that no one recognizes him, for he rarely appeared at public events and does not resemble his father outside of the sharpness of their smile. Still, this new information is troubling.
The next day, Akashi visits the bakery, the public square, and more inns. No one has heard of a fellow by the name of Nijimura. By the time the pub master repeats the same generic answer, Akashi has grown tired of this charade. His annoyance catches the attention of the patron next to him, who offers him some ale.
"No, thank you," Akashi says.
The man just laughs. "Teiko is the gateway of trade to Rakuzan, Seirin, and Shuutoku. Gossip goes around faster than in any royal court, and information can always be bought." He pauses. "For the right price."
Akashi considers this. "And what is your price?"
His companion looks amused at this response. He brushes a strand of dark hair away from his face and shrugs. "Nothing. I'm just looking for company." When Akashi sets a bag of coins on the bar, he raises his eyebrows.
"Do you know where I can find Nijimura?"
"Nope." The man takes another sip of his drink.
Thankfully, the pub master returns with more food before Akashi can do something rash. "Hey Shuuzou, stop messing with my patrons, yeah?!"
"Sure," Shuuzou says. He accepts a plate of mutton and offers some to Akashi. "Why are you looking for this guy anyway?"
"He is a tactics master, and I come from the King to seek his advice."
Shuuzou doesn't ask which King. "And who are you to speak on behalf of a King?"
"I-" Akashi frowns.
"What's your name?"
"Sei," Akashi says at last, using Mibuchi's nickname for him. "I see you do not plan on giving me any information."
"Well, Sei." Shuuzou turns to look at him, and Akashi realizes his eyes are not black but grey. His expression is humorless, as if he finds Akashi unimpressive. "You come from a royal court seeking the military advice of a tactician. It's no secret that Rakuzan and Seirin are on the brink of war, so I can only assume what you have to ask. It doesn't take a genius to know that the best solution is to not go to war."
Seeing that Akashi makes no effort of correcting him, Shuuzou moves his goblet of ale in front of Akashi.
"Drink?" Shuuzou offers, and Akashi accepts. He humors Akashi in small talk about the town until they begin discussing the political climate in Shuutoku, raiders on the trading route to Yonsen, and the rumors of the Touou Princess's love affair with a commoner from Seirin.
Later, when the pub becomes unbearably loud, Shuuzou leads Akashi to the public square, where the town's elders often play chess during the day. They play two games with an incomplete set. A few people stop by to watch their game, but they usually become bored before Shuuzou makes his next move.
Eventually, they're ushered out of their spot by two drunken men. Shuuzou seems neither surprised nor jostled, and he offers to walk Akashi back to his inn.
"What will you do now?" Shuuzou asks him.
Akashi tells him the truth. "I'm not quite sure. Perhaps I'll extend my stay in Teiko."
Shuuzou does not seem interested in Akashi's plans, but he does appear the next day when Akashi is talking to the stable boy. Together, they go to the locksmith to commission a new mouthpiece for Akashi's horse. Nijimura introduces Akashi to the best bakery in town, and they spend the afternoon on the riverbank, feeding ducks and chatting with an ex-soldier from Shuutoku who now spends his days fishing. Akashi is aware that he should be doing something more pressing, yet he finds the pace of everyday life in Teiko oddly soothing.
The rest of Akashi's stay in Teiko echoes this sentiment. During the day, Akashi samples new selections of ham and cheese unheard of in the Inner City of Rakuzan. He befriends an elderly gentleman who enjoy shogi, and they spend afternoons under the shade in quiet concentration over a shogi board.
Shuuzou usually joins Akashi in the mid-afternoon. He takes Akashi around the village, through the border gates where they study the landscape of the adjacent kingdoms. In the evenings, they camp out in pubs and trade information with travelers and stories with barmaids. As a companion, Shuuzou is perceptive yet honest. As a man, Nijimura is compelling and attractive in ways Akashi hasn't seen at court, where women sing exaggerated praises and men hide behind false smiles.
So it's no surprise, really, that Akashi feels a twinge of regret when Mibuchi comes to collect him a month later.
"Sei-chan!" Mibuchi says when he finds the inn using the postmark on Akashi’s last letter. "Your father is quite cross with you."
This is nothing new to Akashi. "I've been doing as he asked."
"Have you?" Mibuchi frowns, looking overdressed as always. "Well, he requests your presence back at court. You've been quite distracted, Sei-chan."
Mibuchi meets the source of Akashi's distraction the next day, when Shuuzou comes to bid Akashi goodbye.
"News travels fast," Shuuzou says as he hands over fresh bread from the bakery. He eyes the royal insignia on Mibuchi's horse, which Akashi had intentionally removed from his own horse before arriving in Teiko. "It's not everyday that the King of Rakuzan sends someone here to retrieve the prince."
Akashi smiles, for he suspected as much. "You knew."
"You did, too." Shuuzou shrugs, ignoring the way Mibuchi is eyeing their exchange with interest.
"My sources told me that the Nijimura family was known for having dark hair and grey eyes. They did not tell me that the man I was looking for had a son," Akashi says. "Let us forgive each other for our mutual deception."
This makes Shuuzou laugh. "It's not deception, Prince Seijuurou. You came looking for information on the political climate of the kingdoms. I dare say I've provided you with more than enough knowledge."
"You have." Akashi nods. "I hope one day you'll reconsider my offer of coming to the Rakuzan court."
Nijimura Shuuzou's expression is neutral, but the tilt of his mouth betrays his amusement. "Maybe if you made a different kind of proposal."
Akashi knows that there is much he needs to accomplish before they can arrive at that point, but he smiles at Shuuzou and says, "I look forward to it."
