Bonus Round 2: Images

Please read the rules carefully before posting!
This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 23 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.
RULES
- Submit prompts in the form of a canon screencap from one of our nominated fandoms along with a ship. Screencaps can be from the anime or manga, as well as any other kind of offshoot media, e.g. official art, drama CD covers, light novel illustrations, magazine covers, photos from stage plays, and/or caps from games.
- Doujinshi, fan-made games or any other fan-created work should not be prompted, even if you receive permission. Only prompt official, canon artwork.
- Keep your prompt concise. Don't prompt a whole manga chapter, for example.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Abe & Tajima). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Abe/Tajima). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
- Upload the cap somewhere (imgur works well) and post here with the images themselves or a link to them. Including a text-only summary of the image is encouraged.
- Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work inspired by the cap.
- Fills can be directly connected to the cap, e.g. panel redraws or writing fic that fleshes out the moment that was capped or that fleshes out what happened directly before/after, but fills can also be more indirectly linked. As long as the work is somehow inspired by the cap, it counts.
- Fills that are too long to fit in a single comment should have the rest of the fill placed as replies to the original fill comment. The subjects of these extra comments should be something like "part 2 of X" or "continued."
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

FILL: TEAM Miyuki Kazuya/Sawamura Eijun, T
699 words.
01.
“Sugawara,” their coach says, his brow furrowed. ”I need you to help me out.”
“Y-Yes,” Sugawara agrees, scratching the back of his head, which is bowed.
“Set to Azumane, I’ll watch.” Their coach jabs a thumb and Sugawara’s eyes follow, landing on the teen in question.
Instantly—he feels bad, but first impressions are always rough—he stiffens, staring at the older boy who’s standing off to the side, drinking deeply from a water bottle. He looks old, at the very least a third year, and Sugawara wonders why he’s by himself.
“Azumane-san,” Sugawara tries not to shuffle over, but that’s pretty much what he does, “the coach wants me to toss to you.”
“Oh,” Azumane says and puts the bottle down, wiping his sweat with a towel. “Alright.”
Blinking, because that was easier than he thought, Sugawara waits patiently for Azumane to sort himself out.
02.
The first toss is shaky.
Sugawara doesn’t know how high to toss it or the timing or anything—Azumane is an enigma in his eyes, a man he doesn’t want to meet in an alleyway at night with the attitude of an Alright Guy—but he aims for a high and slow arc so that Azumane has enough time to spike it just right.
Instead, Azumane charges right ahead and jumps up, the timing three beats too slow, and brushes the ball with his fingertips.
Sugawara tries not to flush when the ball lands on the floor, bouncing dully. He swallows thickly, hoping that he didn’t just embarrass an upperclassman, but Azumane seems to take it in stride.
“My bad,” he says and Sugawara blinks, “the timing was a bit off. I’ll try to spike it, so just toss normally.”
Sugawara’s eyes furrow because he doesn’t really know what his “normal” toss is, just yet, but he nods anyways and opts for a shaky smile.
03.
This time, Sugawara takes a step back and lets someone else set to Azumane—perhaps an upperclassmen who’s more familiar with the other, having played together for at least a year now.
Azumane takes big strides and has an amazing spike; plenty of strength and power that smacks into a ball set just right; Sugawara takes over once he understands Azumane’s rhythm.
He bites his lip, sets the ball, and watches out of the corner of his eye as Azumane smacks it into the other side of the net.
“That was pretty good,” Azumane says and Sugawara nods, arms itching to set again.
“I think I’ve got your rhythm down,” he replies and Azumane raises an eyebrow, caught off guard most likely. “Let me set again, senpai.”
Azumane startles, mouthing the word “senpai” over and over again, then slowly, but surely, his back curls and he stares gloomily at the ground.
What, Sugawara wants to say, does he not like being called a senpai?
04.
“Oi, first years,” their captain calls and Sugawara looks up at the same time that Azumane does, “practice receives on the other court, alright?”
“You,” Sugawara splutters, staggering back, his mouth falling open in shock. “You’re a first year?”
“Yes,” Azumane says, the corner of his lips turning down. “Is that bad?”
“Not at all,” Sugawara shakes his head, “I just, thought you were older, that’s all.”
“Everyone does,” Azumane looks sadly wistful—like a young adult having an existential crisis because they’re unsatisfied with their current status in life.
Sugawara can’t help but laugh—a tiny chuckle, that’s all—and Azumane’s bottom lip quivers.
“Oh, come on,” Sugawara says, coming over to stand a bit closer to his fellow first year. “Just intimidate the other people on the other side of the court. They’ll be so psyched out that you’ll get five spikes past them before they even know it!”
“You think so?” Azumane says and rubs the back of his head, both of them slowly walking to the other court.
“Yeah,” Sugawara nods as confidence flows easily through his veins. “Here; I’ll toss to you every practice so that in actual games, we’ll be seamless.”
“Alright,” Azumane says, still looking unsure.
“It’s a promise,” Sugawara tries instead, looking Azumane steely in the eye.
“It’s a promise,” Azumane echoes.
