Bonus Round 2: Images

Back by popular demand, this round uses official canon artwork as fodder for speculation and extrapolation.
Please read the rules carefully before posting!

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 23 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES

• Submit prompts in the form of a canon screencap from one of our nominated fandoms along with a ship. Screencaps can be from the anime or manga, as well as any other kind of offshoot media, e.g. official art, drama CD covers, light novel illustrations, magazine covers, photos from stage plays, and/or caps from games.
  • Doujinshi, fan-made games or any other fan-created work should not be prompted, even if you receive permission. Only prompt official, canon artwork.
  • Keep your prompt concise. Don't prompt a whole manga chapter, for example.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Abe & Tajima). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Abe/Tajima). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Upload the cap somewhere (imgur works well) and post here with the images themselves or a link to them. Including a text-only summary of the image is encouraged.
• Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work inspired by the cap.
  • Fills can be directly connected to the cap, e.g. panel redraws or writing fic that fleshes out the moment that was capped or that fleshes out what happened directly before/after, but fills can also be more indirectly linked. As long as the work is somehow inspired by the cap, it counts.
  • Fills that are too long to fit in a single comment should have the rest of the fill placed as replies to the original fill comment. The subjects of these extra comments should be something like "part 2 of X" or "continued."

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

season 2 anime spoilers

“We have to talk about Honoka.”

Erena’s voice is calm as she stares across the clubroom, eyes meeting Tsubasa’s with a steady gaze. She sets her teacup on the table beside the sofa, gently crossing her legs; Anju’s hand reaches out to caress hers. Tsubasa frowns. She toys with the hem of her skirt, choosing her words carefully while she speaks.

“You don’t have to say it. I know.”

Her voice is low as she responds, still swirling spice and honey like when she sings in front of a cheering crowd. It has been mere days since they lost to Muse in the Love Live-- the pain of watching another triumph above her still stings like a fresh stab wound. The gracious words A-Rise had afforded the winners were a far cry from the screaming and tears they’d partaken to in private. Tsubasa swirls the tea in her mug, closing her eyes and leaning back in her velvet chair.

“I can’t stop thinking about it. I can’t stop thinking about…”

Anju smiles. “Her.” A soft giggle spills from her lips. “You aren’t very subtle, you know? In a way, I can see why the two of you might be a good match. Both loud, forthcoming, and dense as a brick—“

“Hey!” Tsubasa exclaims, though a small smile surfaces on her lips. “I’m not as bad as she is. I’ve only been trying to hit on her since the first time we invited them over. Honoka’s just the one who can’t take a hint.”

Erena twirls with a lock of her hair. “It’s quite impressive how she doesn’t seem to have noticed yet. You were coming on very strongly, especially from an outsider’s point of view.” She leans in closer to Anju, allowing the smaller girl to rest on her shoulder.

Tsubasa sighs, toying with the rim of her teacup. She takes a long, last final sip of her tea. Anju has steeped it for too long this time and it is far too thick for her liking, but then again, she has never enjoyed things bitter.

That applies to how she likes her girls, too, and Honoka is a radiating beacon of light in a world swamped with cynicism. Honoka is the brightest lantern on a New Year’s shrine, welcoming and bright, a warm hug enveloping her in its sincerity. Tsubasa can see why all of Tokyo was taken by her charm. She too is not immune.

“Well, now we don’t have Nationals to perform at, I can start strategizing about how to pick up girls.” She laughs, unplugging her phone from where it is charging and checking her texts. Nothing from Honoka. Slightly disappointing, but to be expected. The object of her affections is probably busy preparing to win, and Tsubasa won’t accept anything less. “Any advice from my favorite lesbian couple?”

Erena raises an eyebrow. “We’re the only other lesbian couple you know, Tsubasa.” She reaches over to the teapot, pouring herself another cup. “Let’s work with the information you have though. Honoka’s cute, and charming, but pretty aggressive. Also, I’m not sure she has a sense of self-preservation. Didn’t she work herself to death the last time? Isn’t that why Muse wasn’t in the previous finals?”

“Yeah.” Tsubasa frowns. “I know.” She’d been disappointed, to say the least. She’d wanted to see the other girl perform in person, to see if she was just as charming in real life as she was on screen… That was why she’d invited Muse over to UTX in the end.

It was to see her in person, to make sure she was real, a snapshot to capture her infatuation in a single, tangible moment.

Tsubasa sits up in her seat.

“I have an idea,” she mutters underneath her breath, getting up from the sofa. She starts heading towards the door, eyes brimming with excitement as she grabs her coat. Anju and Erena exchange nods before turning back to her, gazes shining with understanding.

“There you go,” Anju says as Tsubasa slams the door shut, ready to cycle across Tokyo so she can win Honoka’s heart.
