Bonus Round 3: Gift Tags

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on July 7 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.
RULES
- Submit prompts as a gift tag in the format below. You can specify the size and a characteristic of the gift, who the sender is, who the recipient is, and a one or two sentence note from the sender to the recipient. Descriptions of the package and the included note don’t have to be explicit, see below.
- Package: medium sized cube, rattles
From: Kageyama Tobio
To: Hinata Shouyou
Note: These will help you get better. - Envelope: manila, 12''x17'', very thick and heavy
From: Tezuka Kunimitsu
To: Kinjou Shingo
Note: Enclosed - Play without regrets! - Your prompt MUST include a relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Riko & Momoi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Riko/Momoi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
- Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work. Fillers can get creative with how to interpret the prompt: your fill can be about the character receiving the gift, one or both characters using the gift, what prompted the sender to send the gift—the physical gift itself can even be excluded from your fill. What’s important is that the gift tag is clearly the inspiration for your fill.
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

FILL: TEAM GRANDSTAND, G
626 words
thank you for letting me combine not one but TWO trans headcanons in a single fill
“Uh, Makishima?”
Makishima looks up, bringing one hand up to his eyes to shield them from the sunlight. Teshima is standing over him, his hands clasped behind his back.
“What?”
“Is it alright if I go back to the clubroom?” Teshima asks in a hushed voice. Behind him, the rest of the team is coming out of the convenience store, carrying drinks and snacks and chatting amongst themselves.
Makishima furrows his brow.
“Why are you asking me? Kinjou’s the captain,” he says. He turns his attention back to his water bottle. “Go ask him.”
Teshima hesitates, then sits down on the curb beside Makishima.
“I’m, uh… It’s an awkward situation,” he says quietly. “I don’t think I’d feel comfortable talking to Kinjou about it.”
“Really? You’d rather talk to me than to Kinjou?” Makishima frowns. “Well, what’s the matter?”
“I—“ Teshima shifts closer as the rest of the team approaches, lowering his voice to a whisper. “I bled through my shorts.”
“Oh,” Makishima says. He slowly replaces the cap on his water bottle, thinking. “Okay. You can go back. Tell Kinjou I excused you.”
“What if he asks why?”
Teshima looks as anxious as Makishima has ever seen him. He isn’t as nonchalant about his gender as Makishima is, and when (if) he comes out to their teammates, he would rather that it be on his own terms and not because his period came a few days early.
Makishima shrugs and waves him off. “He won’t. But if he does, I’ll make something up.”
He watches as Teshima gets up and walks over to Kinjou, his hands clasped behind his back again to hide the red blotch on his shorts. As Makishima predicted, Kinjou doesn’t ask anything, but he doesn’t look particularly happy to let Teshima go.
Teshima bows, and hurries back to his bike.
Kinjou joins Makishima on the curb.
“I will assume that you had a good reason to excuse him without asking me,” he says.
“I did,” says Makishima. Kinjou nods, and doesn’t ask any more questions.
The box appears in one of the spare lockers over the weekend, and Naruko is the one to find it one day after practice.
“Agh!” he yells. He backs away from the locker like there’s a wild animal in it. “Makishima, you left your—your—“
“My what?” Makishima comes over and peers into the locker. “My tampons, Naruko? Is that what you’re trying to say? It’s not a swear word. And those aren’t mine.”
The other first years are starting to gather, too, all craning their necks to see into the locker. There’s a Post-it note stuck to the top of the box, with For anyone who needs them, no questions asked written on it in Kinjou’s neat handwriting.
“If they aren’t yours, then whose are they?” asks Imaizumi.
Makishima shrugs. “That’s not my business,” he says. He flicks Naruko on the forehead and closes the locker. “And it’s not any of yours, either. Now get back to cleaning.”
“But—“ starts Naruko. Makishima leans over, putting his face level with Naruko’s and glaring at him.
“It doesn’t matter why they’re there, or who they’re for, you little gremlin,” he says. “And if I catch you sticking your nose in other people’s business again, I’ll make you regret it, alright?”
Naruko nods emphatically.
“Good. Now, get. Back. To cleaning. All of you.” Makishima waves the first years away from the lockers. “I’d like to go home at some point.”
They scurry off to finish their chores, and Makishima hears Naruko mutter, “Geez, he’s still really scary. I thought I’d get used to him.”
“Maybe if you weren’t so insufferable, he wouldn’t be so scary,” Imaizumi replies. Naturally, that sparks an argument, and Makishima sighs.
Re: FILL: TEAM GRANDSTAND, G
Kinjou is such a quietly thoughtful and good captain (and I like how he figured out what was going on without anyone telling him directly). And Makishima is a good protective senpai, and does an excellent job dealing with Naruko's recurring case of foot-in-mouth. Hopefully Naruko gets a bit better with discretion as time goes on.
I have a huge weakness for trans headcanons in my sports anime, and Teshima and Makishima are two of my strongest.
