A shipping olympics favorite, this round uses quotes of all sorts to fuel your creative endeavors.

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on July 21 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES

Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
- Example: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - M. Gandhi
- The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Makoto & Rin). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Makoto/Rin). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Poem, 23 lines

The joker, a liar, wearer of many masks (yet master of none),
and you try and try to push it down deeper,
doubt and bad decisions coming back to gnaw at bloodied knees and scarred skin,
adding to the cascade of bruises deep within.

You see him standing by the fields,
cackling laugh and vivacious energy feeding those around him,
and you think ‘How are we so different yet similar at the same time?’
camouflage hiding swathes of color,
trying his best to fit in yet stand out in the same breath.

That's why you find it strange you both fit together so well,
misshapen pieces of a lost puzzle finding home,
fearing the ever-present darkness and shadows at the edges of his aura,
scared at any moment the delicate glass would shatter all around you.

Since you find yourself no longer battling alone,
no matter how many times you try to push him away,
kicking, spitting, snarling in self-defence,
he always comes back; battle armor a little more damaged
but loyal to a fault that can never be replaced.

So when you hear that laugh so like your own,
entertained, engaged, and carefree,
it calls to you,
speaks louder than the crouching darkness and despair,
and you decide in that moment to give in once again;
another victory for the light as you push your worries away for another day.
