Bonus Round 4: Quotes

A shipping olympics favorite, this round uses quotes of all sorts to fuel your creative endeavors.


This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on July 21 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.


RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - M. Gandhi
    • The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Makoto & Rin). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Makoto/Rin). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Poem, 24 lines


He could imagine the ugly bruising forming beneath cotton cloth,
patterns of splattered black, purple and blue yet
not a masterpiece to be admired but the mark of a brutal beast against
courageous muscle, against the will of a captain pushing his team towards their goal.

The way Youichi wished he could punish the giant from the previous opposing team,
carve off chunks to leave him gasping for breath like his victim,
rage swirling to fill his stomach
fighting to keep his own emotions in check and bring a level head to the field.

Even more difficult to bite back sharp words when faced with that smirk,
familiar in curling shape and cruel tongue;
a high-pitched cackle drawing goosebumps from memory of its feel against exposed skin.

A joker’s mask hiding it's true form,
pain marked in swirls on overtaxed muscle with a smirk covering its
true extent; “You’d better not budge till the end; break down after we win,”
curling off Youichi’s tongue in its harshest form.

Yearning to give into concern and fear for the catcher’s wellbeing,
but knowing his stubbornness would never allow his touch,
bottling negativity to store away and destroy at another time,
fingers curling at his sides in twitches of want.

For he would allow Miyuki to have his way,
smirking, and grinning and doing his best to fool everyone else on the field but
Youichi would be there to patch and pick up the scattered pieces that remained,
the one pillar of support that the catcher could always lean against
in the end.
