i know nothing about ballroom dance or dancewear i just wanted an excuse to put kuroo in tacky pants....
“What,” Tooru starts. Pauses. “Are you wearing.”
“Why?” Kuroo looks down, looks back up. Plasters on a really infuriating grin. “You like ‘em?”
Tooru just barely manages to avoid slapping his face with his palm, but he purposefully does not avoid giving Kuroo the most disgusted face he can manage. In front of him, Kuroo stands in front of a mirror, checking himself out in his black bell bottoms with sequined flame decals running up the sides.
“I’m definitely wearing these for our next routine.”
“Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed our partnership then, because this is where it comes to an end,” Tooru says, backing out of the fitting room. “Good-bye, Kuroo Tets--”
“Aww, come on, you really don’t like them?” He shakes his hips and the sequins glitter offensively in the bright lighting of the room. “I think we’ll really stand out with these!”
Tooru scoffs. “Well that’s for sure.”
“And besides, I think these really capture the fiery passion of the same-sex cha cha, don’t you think?” Kuro raises his eyebrows suggestively on “fiery passion” and now Tooru’s really getting a headache.
“There’s a joke to be made here about your ‘flaming’ pants and the same-sex cha cha, but it’s beneath me, so I won’t.” He steps back into the small room, closes the door behind him, and sits on the small bench provided.
Kuroo grins at him. “You just made it, though, didn’t you?”
“Who, me?” Tooru smiles innocently. “Hmm, don’t remember that.”
Kuroo just laughs and goes back to checking himself out in the mirror. To be fair, he did bring a few legitimate items to try out. At first they were just looking for a new vest for Tooru, but then they’d both gotten distracted and Kuroo had said he’d needed new pants, and. Well.
Tooru has no clue how and where Kuroo managed to find that-- thing. Apparently there was a sale bin and after a bit of digging around he’d come across it and decided he just had to try it on. Tooru wasn’t there for the ordeal, he was still browsing the shoe section.
If he had been there, maybe he could’ve stopped Kuroo from falling in love with the tacky number. As it was, Kuroo was now marking one of their routines out in the fitting room, muttering out One, two, three-and-four under his breath. He’s got his shirt open to a pretty low-V, and if Tooru can concede one thing, it’s that those pants do hug his hips pretty well.
Kuroo must notice Tooru checking him out in the mirror because his face goes from focused dancer to smarmy little shit in no time flat. “You think I look good in these,” he singsongs.
Tooru just hums, eyes still glued to Kuroo’s ass.
Kuroo grins wider. “Come on, you pervert, practice this section with me real quick.”
“There’s no room in here, genius.” Tooru stands up anyway, stepping closer to Kuroo. After sparing a glance at the door to make sure it’s locked, he boxes Kuroo in against the wall and places his hands on Kuroo’s hips.
“Oh?” Kuroo looks like he wants to make another joke so Tooru kisses him before he can continue, pressing up against him and thumbing the material of his tacky pants.
They can leave the actual shopping for their next shopping trip.
don't try this at home unless you want to annoy a poor retail worker
