sportsanime | Bonus Round 5: Myth & Lore

Summer's a time for swapping stories around the campfire. With that in mind, this round draws inspiration from the stories humanity have told each other over the centuries.

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 4 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES

This round does not have prompts. Instead, we ask you to draw inspiration from the wide pool of mythology, fantasy, folklore, and fable. An urban fantasy or supernatural AU? A re-imagining of your favorite folk tale? Characters swapping ghost stories or playing D&D? As long as your fill in some way incorporates the fantastical and/or supernatural, it's welcome here.
Your fill still has to be about a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. What ships you create work for is up to you, though.
To submit your fill, simply leave it as a comment as a reply to this post.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many fills as you want!

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

"Do you still eat food, as a vampire?" Mayuzumi asks, when he and Akashi are lying in bed together.

Akashi, kissing his way down Mayuzumi's bitten neck, pauses for a moment to hum. "I can, for the enjoyment of it. The taste of blood would get a little boring if it was the only thing I could ever have, after all."

Mayuzumi licks his lips, tilting his head backwards as Akashi resumes his kisses. "I suppose that makes sense."

"That's not to say that I find the taste of your blood boring," Akashi murmurs, his tongue warm against Mayuzumi's neck as he licks over the puncture marks. "I think it tastes very nice."

"You don't need to flatter me," Mayuzumi mutters, tipping his head further back in the hopes that Akashi won't see the way his ears are turning pink.

"I'm just stating the truth," Akashi tells him, nuzzling against him. "Thank you for the meal."

"You really need to stop saying that every time," Mayuzumi sighs. "It's embarrassing."

"I am grateful, though," Akashi says, settling down on his back, beside Mayuzumi. "Sleep well, Chihiro."

"Yeah. Good night."

The next day, Mayuzumi decides that he'll cook enough food for both of them, for dinner. They haven't been living together for very long, but he's always just assumed that Akashi wouldn't be interested in eating, or wouldn't need to, and has just cooked his own food. It's easy to double the portions, and he might not be able to judge how much Akashi will want to eat, but he figures that the rest of it can be packed away as leftovers anyway.

Akashi comes home halfway through, sniffing the air and raising an eyebrow at Mayuzumi.

"What?" Mayuzumi asks, feeling a little defensive. "You said that you eat food, right? Are you going to change your mind on me now?"

"Not at all," Akashi murmurs, and he continues to walk. Mayuzumi can see the soft smile tugging at Akashi's lips, and it makes him turn away, scowling as his face grows warm.

He puts care into the flavours that he puts into the food, doing his best to make it as rich as he possibly can. His mouth is watering at just how good it smells by the end, and it draws Akashi out of their room too, book still held in his hand as he glances hopefully in the direction of the kitchen.

"Dinner," Mayuzumi announces, carrying two bowls out to their dining table, "is served."

Akashi looks down at the bowl placed in front of him, and then hums quietly, frowning.

"Chihiro," he says, as Mayuzumi sits down opposite from him. "I think you've put garlic in this."

With a pleasant smile, Mayuzumi holds his hands together. "Thank you for the meal."

I can't stop laughing at the end of this!

I can 100% picture Mayuzumi doing exactly that.
