Bonus Round 1: AUs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)
RULES
- Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
- An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
- Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

“Nacchan!”
Natsuo looked up from where she was stretching to see Kei smiling brightly at her from the gym entrance. She was dressed in workout clothes, the same as everyone else, and came over to sit by Natsuo.
“Kei,” Natsuo replied. “What are you doing here?”
“Well, the volleyball team lost, so the season is over, and I was thinking about how cool you and Kontani-san and everyone look when you're doing MMA, so I want to try it.” Kei looked closely at Natsuo, trying to see how she felt about it.
Natsuo shrugged. “Suit yourself,” she said. Kei gave her another bright smile.
“There's Kontani-san,” she said. “I should go greet her.” She got up and walked over to Karin. Natsuo watched her, and took a moment to hope that this wouldn't mess up their friendship.
–
MMA did not come naturally to Kei. She had good stamina and worked hard, but among the beginners she was one of the last to master new strikes and holds.
“She's a good kid,” Karin told Natsuo during practice one afternoon. “Not everyone has your talent.”
“I know that,” Natsuo scowled. She glanced over at where Kei was practicing submission techniques. The girl she was practicing with got her in an arm bar, and Kei's face twisted in pain before she tapped out. Natsuo looked away, her chest hot with irritation.
“She's not like Mawatari, either,” said Karin. “Even though she works hard, they're nothing alike.”
“I know,” snapped Natsuo, and launched into an axe kick.
–
The times Natsuo didn't stay late for free practice, she and Kei usually ended up at the nearest convenience store.
“I'm enjoying MMA more than I thought I would,” Kei admitted, resting her cold juice against a particularly vicious bruise forming on her thigh. “Everyone is so nice! And even though I still don't like getting hurt, it feels really good when you get the hang of something, right?”
“Yeah,” Natsuo replied vaguely. Her friendship with Kei hadn't really changed since Kei started MMA, but Natsuo couldn't shake the feeling that something was different. She hated not knowing things
“Are you even listening, Nacchan?” Kei demanded.
“Huh?” Natsuo turned to face her. “Yeah.”
Kei rolled her eyes, but smiled anyway.
–
“Nacchan! I did it! I won in grappling practice today!” Kei was dripping with sweat, and her face was pink and blotchy from exertion and happiness, and she wore the biggest, brightest smile Natsuo had ever seen.
“Nice job,” she replied. Kei laughed, bubbly and tired.
“It was hard, but I'm so happy.” She picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder. “Hey, do you want to practice grappling sometime? I know we're on different levels, but it could be fun, right?”
Natsuo thought about it. Even though she hated grappling, she was still way better at it than Kei. She thought about the face Kei made when she was in pain, and about putting her in a triangle choke. About the possibility, however far-fetched, of Kei getting the best of her. She thought about Kei's smile.
“Sure, why not?” she said.
