Bonus Round 1: AUs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).


This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.


Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
• Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

• 400 words (prose)
• 400px by 400px (art)
• 14 lines (poetry)

There is no max work cap.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

“And this is our Go clubroom!” Toudou announced proudly, throwing the doors open. A confused redhead, an even larger confused redhead and a boy with glasses blinked at him. Ignoring the fact that he’d never been there before in his life, Toudou continued, “Our Go club is excellent, they’ve won several awards. Just like all Hakone Academy clubs!”

He gestured at the walls where a few certificates were hanging and swept on, dragging Onoda in his wake like a small, beleaguered dinghy. Manami took a second to wave at the Go club members before he followed his friend and his erstwhile mentor. Toudou went down the stairs and flung open the next door he found.

“This, young Onoda, is -” Shrieks of outrage sent Toudou, Onoda and Manami running for their lives.

“Toudou-san, I don’t think you should be showing me the women’s changing room!” Onoda managed to squeak, his cheeks bright red with embarrassment.

“Yes!” Manami said, grabbing hold of Onoda’s arm protectively. “He came to visit me, not to get a tour of the school.”

“That was just a minor mishap. It used to be the boy’s changing room. They must have changed it recently.” Toudou flapped his hand dismissively at their protests and seizing Onoda’s other arm, pulled him along. Manami had no choice but to follow.

“Besides, as your new senpai, it’s my duty to make sure that Onoda acclimatizes to the school properly.” Toudou paused to beam down at Onoda. “Tomorrow, we will have posing lessons and on the weekend, I will take you to the optician’s to see about getting you contacts. And goggles for when you’re cycling, of course.”

“My new senpai?” Onoda repeated, having gotten stuck on that. “...Toudou-san, I’m not transferring to Hakone Academy.”

“Of course you are,” Toudou said with another wave. “Maki-chan asked me to look after you and I’m certainly not moving to Sohaku. Your uniforms are awful.”

Onoda shot Manami a pleading look. Toudou was Manami’s senpai! Surely Manami could think of something to do to let Toudou down lightly.

To his dismay, he saw that Manami was smiling happily instead of wearing the pout he’d had during the rest of the tour.

“That’s a good idea, Toudou-san. Then we can race together every day.”

Oh no. Toudou’s insanity was clearly contagious.

There was only one thing left to do…


“I bought an international calling card,” Onoda said, fishing out of his pocket. “Want to call Makishima-senpai and talk to him?”

Makishima would have to be able to talk sense into Toudou! And if he didn’t, Onoda would wait until Toudou was engrossed in the conversation and run.

Toudou is 100% convinced he knows best. And just like Makishima's unfriendliness never deterred Toudou, Onoda's protests won't either.
