SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).


This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.


Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
• Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Everyone knows the golden apples of the gods confer immortality on those who feast on them.

Mizuki knows the apples only confer immortality when dipped in the blood of an immortal.

There is ichor in Yuuta’s veins, golden and glowing. Mizuki has spilled it with his blades, lain Yuuta upon an altar and carved his delicate heart from between his butterfly breastbones. He has lifted Yuuta’s heart free from his body, aorta and lungs dangling like an umbilical cord and afterbirth. He has seen Yuuta live without a heart and breathe without lungs.

Fuji, the family names itself, and Fuji apples have always been the sweetest.

The first fruit, Yuuta tells Mizuki, held cells of divinity within them. The first tree, Yuuta whispers against Mizuki’s mouth, grew its roots through the skeleton of their ancestor.

To taste a Fuji apple is to taste divine bliss but to earn immortality takes more than a few bites of clean, crisp apple-flesh.

Their line is weakened through breeding with humans. The ichor that is Yuuta’s blood is no longer enough to give the gift of immortality, no matter how much Mizuki drinks. Mizuki powders Yuuta’s bones and grills thin slivers of his flesh to eat on thinner crisps but Mizuki still bleeds red.

So an apple it must be from the very first Fuji orchard, from the very first Fuji tree.

Yuuta promises he will bring one back for Mizuki from their next family gathering and with that, Mizuki will have to be content. He cannot outrun the dryads that guard their trees and fruits most jealousy. He cannot manipulate creatures whose modes of thought are so different to those of humans.

Yuuta, though, Yuuta is more human than not and he is Mizuki’s disciple. He will help Mizuki ascend to the godhood that should be his.

Mizuki lets Yuuta go to his family gathering and makes only one mistake. Right before Yuuta leaves, he tells Yuuta, “Give my regards to your brother.”

The jealousy that flashes murder-bright in Yuuta’s dark eyes immediately alerts Mizuki to his misstep but Yuuta is in the car and gone before Mizuki can amend it.

Still he does not fear. Still he does not understand.

He has his eyes on the prize and when Yuuta returns with his brother, Mizuki is too smitten to remember the apple.

He thinks Shuusuke is a gift, a sacrifice.

He thinks that even as Shuusuke nibbles at his heart.
