Bonus Round 1: AUs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).


This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.


Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
• Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

• 14 lines (poetry)

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Oikawa stared at the fill that had been left to his prompt. He’d just finished reading it and was honestly in awe. Carefully, he turned his phone over, buried his face in his hands and shrieked like a very quiet ship’s horn going off.

He’d been chatting with user miyukisms for a few days now, replying rapid fire to prompts to build up as many bonus round prompts as possible, but this was the first time that miyukisms had filled anything of his and it was so good. He couldn’t even begin to think of how to comment to it! Keyboard smashing was the refuge of the ineloquent and Oikawa would not resort to that but what words would do it justice?

Oikawa reread the fill, marveling at its perfect 1602 words, then left a comment that was longer than most of his super-tight 400 word fills.

That was it. He needed to bait miyukisms into writing more fills for him. His goal for SIH had switched from ‘most bonus round fills’ to ‘get more miyukisms fills’.

Hopefully they had a bait list somewhere…

The entire page was filled with Love Hime prompts made by Onoda. Onoda looked them over, feeling vaguely embarrassed, and then set his fingers down on the keyboard again. He’d just thought of another one!

Happily humming the theme song to himself, he continued to single-handedly take his team to the 50 prompt mark.

Miyahara adjusted her glasses and squinted at the screen. She zoomed in, erased most of the eyeliner, then zoomed out again. No. Still not right. She had to emphasize his big beautiful eyes somehow!

She kept working, not quite aware that she was modeling his eyes less after canon and more after Manami’s. Miyahara just wanted to draw beautiful eyes before she had to get back to her homework.

Phichit sat back and smiled happily. The Twitter chat was so lively! And despite the disparate timezones, so many people showed up to the livestreams where they rewatched episodes together. He loved his team and their good nature. They were all pulling together so well!

Sure, they might not be BR fill monsters like Team V or creating pages of prompts like the Love Hime team (Phichit had ended up watching it out of sheer self-defense) but they were having fun and making friends, and wasn’t that what ultimately mattered?

I had to emotionally prepare myself before reading this. A fill by the infamous Damien, and I'm not even on his team!

(I'm sorry it's just you're the best SASO meme we will ever have.)

First of all, your characterization was so tremendously spot-on in each and every one of these scenes that I'm ENVIOUS. And if Miyuki and Oikawa flirting over filling each other's prompts isn't the damned truest-to-life thing about fandom crushes ever, I don't know what is, holy shit.

Secondly I can't stop crying at the perfection of Onoda capping out points for prompting all by himself. That little climber, chugging away, doing his best... weeps...

THIRDLY, MIYAHARA AS AN ARTIST it hadn't even crossed my mind and I'm kicking myself over how perfect it is ALL OF THIS IS PERFECT I'M UPSET

I was staring at the first part and unsure how to respond, then was informed that you're Lira's Kris and everything just fell into place. XD Lira collects you people like kids used to collect troll dolls.

Thank you for the great feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it. XD I actually based Oikawa and Miyuki a little off something that happened IN SASO - I was just filling all the things, did a ton of someone else's fills and then I unexpectedly got a fill from them that just made me FREEZE. And I imagined Oikawa being stunned by a perfect fill when he's so busy bein a fill monster that he hasn't even considered RECEIVING fills let alone ones that he really loves!

Onoda is totally a little prompt/fill machine. Choo choo goes the little climber, scaling the heights and pulling his team to victory!

idk why I wanted Miyahara to be an artist. I think I just looked at her and went WOW YOU LOOK EXACTLY LIKE YOU DO ART and maybe subconsciously use your best friend's eyes for a reference smetimes.

I had to end it with Phichit and the SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP. Because, you know, that's what SASO is totally about. Not killing the competition. Nope.
