Bonus Round 1: AUs

AUs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

If you see anyone breaking the code of conduct (e.g., causing drama, being rude) anywhere (not just DW), please contact the mods immediately.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

OWN GOAL. DOES NOT COUNT FOR POINTS.

“IT’S A GUNDAM!” Oikawa heard someone yell and inside the cockpit of the Grand King, he smiled to himself. Really? Did they always need to yell that? The sight of the Gundam ought to be enough warning, even if the sound of its fire didn’t give it away.

“Target located. I’m going after it,” Kageyama said and Oikawa’s smile disappeared as he looked at the screen where his fellow Gundam pilot was frowning in concentration. Kageyama’s sleek black hair was damp with sweat, his narrowed eyes fixed on something Oikawa couldn’t see.

“Remember the plan,” Oikawa snapped. “You wait for the others and we move as a team.”

“He’ll be gone by the time the others land,” Kageyama said. On another screen, the blue dot that represented Kageyama’s King moved further away from Oikawa’s Grand King. That left Oikawa dealing with the troops.

“King!” Oikawa snarled, jerking Grand King’s left hand up. An electric ball of crackling blue started to form from the fingers of the Gundam. “Get back here!”

Kageyama didn’t even bother to dignify that with a response, instead continuing to chase after their target. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Thinking he could do everything alone, thinking that he didn’t need the rest of his team.

“This,” Oikawa told the monitor vengefully, knowing that Kageyama had probably muted him, “Is why I won’t teach you how to modify King to throw like Grand King.”

He took a deep breath, far more annoyed by Kageyama than the groundfire that the troops were laying down. When Nishinoya’s Thunder dropped down from cloud cover, Oikawa immediately opened a channel to it and said, “Kageyama’s gone after the target alone. Back him up. I can handle this.”

“Understood!” Nishinoya said and took off, jets flaring, after Kageyama. The flexible Gundam with its smaller armory would be able to catch up to Kageyama while the Grand King kept the troops from being able to help their general.

Something in Oikawa’s chest that he had refused to admit was even tense now relaxed in the knowledge that Kageyama wouldn’t be out there alone. He would have preferred Hinata with the Quick to be Kageyama’s backup, given how well the two of them worked together, but Nishinoya was dependable as well. Far more so than Kageyama.

Oikawa scowled at Kageyama’s monitor and told him, “You are the worst boyfriend.”

And then someone shot him with a ground-to-air missile and Oikawa had to focus on the fight again.

Under his breath, he muttered, “Worst boyfriend.”
