Bonus Round 3: FSTs

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.
RULES
- Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
- Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
- Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Unsurprisingly, they all vow to choose the Survey Corps as the branch they'll join after graduation.
Jun's always been the loudest about it--from day one of training onward. On the first day here, he'd shouted out his intentions not once, but twice. Once to the instructor as they all lined up, and later in the mess hall in front of everyone as they ate dinner.
Some ignored him. Others--like Ryousuke--only gave him a deadpan response that they'd already heard it once today, he didn't need to stand on the bench and yell it just to remind them all. Again. And others--mostly Tetsu, honestly--looked like he agreed, burning with just as much passion as Jun was just... a lot quieter about it as he sat on the bench Jun was standing on, food untouched as he nodded in agreement.
Someone--an older trainee--told him he'd have to prove himself in training first. They all would.
(And they do. After a few struggles and falling on their faces a few times--especially in the first few weeks of training.)
It takes years of training, but by the time they've made it through, they know they can pick up their weapons and stand ready to fight against the titans--just like they'd promised on that very first day of training.
"Which branch will you choose?" Chris asks them on graduation night. He's ranked number one in their group of trainees, which comes as no great shock to anyone. He could easily choose the Military Police--that's what his father had done, after all. He has every opportunity to do so as well.
Still, he chooses the Survey Corps along with the rest of the top trainees in their class, says he'd rather be an asset to that cause than sit around protected in the walls furthest from the titans. He'd rather stand on the front lines with them all.
A few short days later they all have the wings of freedom emblem proudly displayed on their backs as they stand ready to fight for everything that symbol stands for.
(Later, everyone, more than once, wonders if he regrets his decision. Especially when they think that it might have saved him from losing his arm to an abhorrent titan's teeth on a difficult--their toughest--mission beyond the walls.)
Takako's lip quivers as those of them who hadn't been near Chris when it happened are told, a look of fear in her eyes, followed by one of sorrow. She quickly masks it, however, stands tall and presses a hand to Jun's back as he stands nearby, fists clenched tightly at his sides, eyes lowered to the ground.
Masuko doesn't sleep for a week, doesn't really speak much for just as long. It happened right in front of him. He watched Chris go down--watched the best of them lose it all in a split second--and much, much later the image still never leaves him. Still haunts his dreams, sometimes.
Tanba blames himself. It's his first mission on the same squad as Chris, and it'd ended in disaster. Maybe if he had moved quicker... maybe if he had warned Chris sooner, this wouldn't have happened. Maybe--
Ryousuke, who's got a sharper tongue than all of them, somewhat intimidating, silent but deadly on the battlefield, says softly, reaching up to whack Tanba's shoulder, that it's not his fault. He usually always has something to say, always likes to engage in friendly ribbing of his comrades--especially Tanba and Jun--but now, he doesn't say much. The gesture does it's job, though, and it doesn't make things much better in the moment, but Tanba appreciates it all the same.
Tetsu picks them all up. He feels as hurt as everyone else, but he puts on a brave face, stands before them all, shoulders taut, strong enough to carry the weight of the entire world on them, it seems. He pushes aside his grimace, earnestly says they still have a job to do. They can't quit.
They won't quit.
(Chris can no longer fight in the field like he used to, but he's still the best tactician of them all. He may not be as bright as he used to be--not until later, when a new group of trainees joins the Survey Corps does that happen--but he still keeps his promise, his desire to remain an asset to humanity at all costs, and he does humanity proud either way.)
They don't quit. They never do. Through the victories and the defeats, they keep moving forward. Losses never weigh any lighter over time, the fact that they've chosen lives where survival is never guaranteed never changes.
Sometimes, it's difficult to process that life, humanity is what they strive to protect, to keep the titans from taking any more from them, yet there are times they can't even succeed at that.
But they never let that get them down for long. Because where there's cruelty in the world--death, injury, destruction--there're beautiful things that make up for it--friendship, support, camaraderie.
And despite the bad, they still manage to hold their heads high and represent the same thing they'd always stood for, the wings of freedom still sitting proudly on their backs.
Re: FILL: TEAM KURAMOCHI YOUICHI/MIYUKI KAZUYA, T
AHHHHH oh my god!! I absolutely adore how you incorporate the third years and their experiences in Daiya canon into this. I can clearly see the first scene in my head LMAO it's so fun to imagine this rowdy bunch over the dining table... But then. But then... Chris... :'') Tehir resolve... The ending... AHHH I don't think I can word my love for this enough!!!!! And I just love your characterization so much... I'm still weeping. Thank you so much for this!!!
Also, I can't believe Isashiki Jun is Eren Jaeger.
Re: FILL: TEAM KURAMOCHI YOUICHI/MIYUKI KAZUYA, T
i love the third years, and even though i haven't even thought about snk in a long time, i thought this was such a cool prompt and an awesome au to put them in! one of my favorite things to do in aus is find ways i can parallel canon in that setting, so i had a really great time being able to do that even though it Hurt. and i'm so relieved you liked the characterization! i always get nervous about that when i'm writing characters for the first time or ones i don't write as often as others!
fff i thought about tiny first year jun and had this moment like "i can't believe jun's Eren Jaeger" when i thought about this prompt LOL it's too good to pass up
thanks again for your comment!! i'm so thrilled that you liked this!!
