Bonus Round 4: Quotes

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

An oldie but a goodie—in this round, we draw inspiration from famous words said by other people.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." -Friedrich Nietzsche
  • The quote can come from almost anything—famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, etc.— but please don't quote personal conversations you've had or overheard.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Everyone was watching now. It was a lot of pressure on Hanamiya but he forced himself to block it out. He had to concentrate solely on the fight, on his opponent's eyes and arms and legs. Any twitch of motion, any hint at what Asahi was about to do, would be vital in dodging his lance.

Hanamiya spun and twisted and in one case, _leaped_ over the prince's lance. He moved with all the surety of an acrobat, fearless and swift. All he was looking for was an opening, a chance to get close enough to the prince to put that rapier of his to good use.

It came when the lance thrust down just far enough for Hanamiya to leap onto it, using it as a springboard to lunge at the prince directly. He only needed it to take his weight for a second; one second was all it would take to push off against the lance, now safe from its vicious tip and with nothing but Asahi’s armor between him and the prince.

The roar that came up from the crowd at the sight of their prince being attacked by a boy as swift and lethal as an arrow in flight was no louder than Hanamiya ‘s heartbeat as his world narrowed to himself and his target.

The sword point, slim and wickedly sharp, went past Asahi’s lips, deep into his mouth. Not deep enough to kill him but deep enough for him to taste blood. Deep enough that Hanamiya could have killed him, if he'd wanted to. He landed with his knees on Asahi's shoulder, one hand in Asahi's short hair to wrench back his head and the other hand holding the sword that would be so easy to force down his throat.

He could end Asahi's line right here. He could guarantee that Fu's heirs would take the throne; King Kageyama was too old to sire anymore children, after all.

For a frozen moment, the orphan boy and the prince of the kingdoms looked into each other's eyes and what was in Hanamiya's eyes was the cold surety of death. He was shadow-eyed and snarling; he had filled Asahi's mouth with royal blood and from his own mouth, his blood dripped into Asahi's eyes.

He could kill the prince now, if they did not call the melee to a conclusion and Imayoshi half-rose from his seat as if to call Hanamiya off.

A dog when sent to hunt was not allowed to eat the prey it caught but a wolf, ah, a wolf would not be denied its spoils.
