SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

An oldie but a goodie—in this round, we draw inspiration from famous words said by other people.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." -Friedrich Nietzsche
  • The quote can come from almost anything—famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, etc.— but please don't quote personal conversations you've had or overheard.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Love is such a killing thing. No actual death, just a discussion of love between monsters.

“It’s so cute when you look at me like that, senpai,” Hanamiya teases, dragging his fingers over Imayoshi’s face slowly enough that they hook under his lips and pull them away from his teeth. He lets go and pats Imayoshi’s cheek, mirroring the mockingly affectionate way that Imayoshi used to pet him when they were back in middle school.

“Anyone would think you love me,” Hanamiya jeers (and despite the light airiness of the words, it is mockery as cold and cruel as any remark Hanamiya ever made to an opponent).

“And if I do?” Imayoshi rises to the bait like a shark surfacing, his eyes opening just slightly behind the protective lenses of his glasses (all the better to see you with) and Hanamiya’s hand stills in mid air for a second.

It’s only a second, only a heartbeat’s moment of shock, but it’s enough for Imayoshi’s smile to sharpen just a little.

“You wouldn’t know what to do with it if you were loved, would you, Makoto-chan?” He says into the silence. It’s his turn to reach out now, to cup Hanamiya’s cheek and run his thumb over Hanamiya’s lip. Hanamiya bites (as always) and Imayoshi slips his thumb inside Hanamiya’s mouth for him to suck the sting of the bite away.

“Of course I would, senpai,” Hanamiya says lightly, kissing the pad of Imayoshi’s thumb before biting again. “I’d tear their heart out and piss in their chest for daring to think I could be loved.”

Imayoshi laughs and leans in, his hand sliding back into Hanamiya’s hair and getting a good, tight hold on the dark locks.

“No,” he disagrees, dropping his voice low and intimate, “You’d freeze like a rabbit in the headlines. For the first time in your life, you’d be scared of the unknown.”

Hanamiya tries to shake his head in refutation but Imayoshi won’t let him. He keeps tight hold of Hanamiya’s hair, talking with his mouth so close to Hanamiya’s that his lips brush against the other’s in a dozen little accidental kisses.

“You’d act bold, you’d think it gave you control but you’d be smart enough to know the truth. Love is a driving force, just like ambition, just like hate. Love could turn you into prey to be hunted and captured and you - ah, you, Makoto-chan, hate being prey.” Imayoshi kisses Hanamiya; against his mouth, Imayoshi breathes the oldest curse:

“I love you.”
