SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

An oldie but a goodie—in this round, we draw inspiration from famous words said by other people.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.

  • The quote can come from almost anything—famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, etc.— but please don't quote personal conversations you've had or overheard.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Werewolf AU because I felt like writing Hanamiya as a werewolf because… there is no because. Warnings for blood. Slight violent fantasies.

The blood clung to Imayoshi’s fingertips like honey, stretching towards the table but refusing to quite drip free. It clotted thickly in the air and as he flexed his fingers just slightly, parting his index and middle fingers, the blood made a red banner in the air between his fingertips.

"Perfect." Imayoshi pronounced finally, wiping his fingers delicately against the mouth of the bottle. He was loathe to waste even a single drop. He ran her fingers around the inside rim. Only when he was satisfied that they were perfectly clean did he raise his eyes to the werewolf who was sprawled back in the chair on the other side of the desk. "And you say that you can get me more?"

Hanamiya nodded, a grin as wide as the crescent moon curving over his face. "Yeah. Bastard's still alive. You want fresh blood, we can sell you every drop he has."

Imayoshi studied him thoughtfully for a few minutes. Werewolves were nothing new to him. The city's supernatural population was large and the wolf packs that ran about on the full moon nights never disturbed her. Indeed, he counted some of them amongst his clients.

This one, however, Imayoshi had never met before. He looked young, too young to be an alpha, but he had swaggered into the room with all the confidence of an alpha and introduced himself as 'Hanamiya Makoto, alpha of the Spider Web’s pack'. Imayoshi knew that they were supposedly savage and cruel, fond of hunting down other packs just to tear their leaders apart, but he had heard very little about him apart from that.

Now, presented with a good chance to look him over, Imayoshi made the most of it. His hair was a little untidy but that was common among werewolves. They never seemed to be able to groom themselves properly. He had dark grey eyes surrounded by a fringe of surprisingly long eyelashes, very white teeth and his face was more clever than attractive, sharp cheekbones and the lean line of his jaw giving him a slightly wolfish look even as a human.

Imayoshi would recognize him if he saw him again, Imayoshi was confident of that. Hanamiya’s clothes were clean and designer; she could tell the counterfeits from the real thing and Hanamiya’s were brand name. A rich werewolf alpha, in other words, and one that liked to look good as as a human.

Hanamiya took Imayoshi’s inspection of him in amiable silence, bringing a long-fingered hand up to his mouth to cover a yawn at one point. At that, Imayoshi stopped and gave him a slow smile. "Am I boring you, Hanamiya?"

"A little,” Hanamiya said, his eyes glinting with a predator’s hunger. “I heard that you’d be interesting but you haven’t impressed me so far.”

“Mm,” Imayoshi smiled in response. “And I heard it’s not a good idea to ‘interest’ you.”

Hanamiya laughed at that, the way men do when a bolt has struck home, and Imayoshi let himself fantasize for a second about shoving a knife down that open mouth.

There's something really fascinating about this one-- Imayoshi's exact role isn't entirely clear (salesman? vampire? witch? hunter?) and it's paired nicely with the slip between using feminine and masculine pronouns. Their interaction at the end is particularly lovely. <3

!!! I was thinking witch! I am so glad that came through as a possibility and the shifting pronouns didn't bother you. Imayoshi's very good at blurring the lines so I figured I could play with gender just a tiny bit there to add to the mysticism/lack of clarity around Imayoshi.

But yeah, please picture Imayoshi as a witch who sells spells and tells futures, seated in a parlor, cloaked in midnight and with glasses that give True Sight that pierces glamours. And Hanamiya just swaggering in, brash and cocksure, but Imayoshi can see the wolf under the human skin and the fangs in the smile.
