Bonus Round 4: Quotes

Quotes

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

An oldie but a goodie—in this round, we draw inspiration from famous words said by other people.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." -Friedrich Nietzsche
    • The quote can come from almost anything—famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, etc.— but please don't quote personal conversations you've had or overheard.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

he takes tooru back to their childhood home when he finally decides to propose.

they've been sharing an apartment in tokyo for a few years now, have been dating even longer, but hajime wants to make it official. he wants to ask tooru to marry him. and there's no better place to do it than back home in miyaji--where they first met as children and grew up together, where they'd shared their first kiss and confessed their feelings for each other.

tooru's thrilled at the suggestion to go visit their families for a weekend. they've been busy lately, and haven't gotten back there in a while. it's a nice break from adulthood and responsibilities and daily life in the city.

it's also the place hajime hopes to make forever something they'll officially hold in their hands, with rings on their fingers. a symbol for everything they have and everything they've always wanted with each other.

no matter how much he plans and goes over what he'd like to say, the things he wants to tell tooru, the sentiments he knows tooru is aware of after all this time, but that he'd like to say anyway, hajime worries he'll mess up because of nerves. that he'll ruin a moment that's meant to start forever in a blink of an eye, a quick second.

(he tells himself not to worry. he knows he wants to spend forever with oikawa tooru and tooru wants to spend forever with him--this is what they've been doing their entire lives so far, after all--but it doesn't calm his nerves. not completely, anyway.)

it isn't until they're standing at a park they'd used to play at as children, tooru's hand in his own, that hajime thinks he'll go for it.

he clasps tooru's hands in his, squeezes them gently, and in a second, the plan changes. tooru smiles at him, says, "i love you," and hajime's heart wants to burst from his chest because while he's known he's been in love with tooru for years, he never gets tired of hearing it, especially now, especially in this moment.

"marry me," he blurts out. it takes just a short second to say, to suggest, and it's not any of the planned words he'd said, but it still feels right--anything with tooru, all of it, all of this--always feels right. as long as they're together.

"hajime--" is all tooru manages to choke out, tears welling up in his eyes. hajime's sure he looks the same, but smiles, squeezes tooru's hand and reaches into his pocket with his other. he pulls out the ring he'd been holding onto for months, waiting for this chance to make forever theirs.

tooru pulls him into a hug when he sees it. "yes," he murmurs in hajime's ear. "yes. yes. yes."

the answer's the same. over and over and over again.

sliding the ring onto tooru's finger only takes a second, but it's the start of forever.

their forever.
