Bonus Round 5: Clue
Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)
RULES
- Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
- Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
- The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
- Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
- The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
- Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
- Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.

“You’re here again.”
“Observant as always, Sawamura-senpai.”
Sanae sighs, walking straight into the club without giving Natsuo another look.
“Cold”, the other whispers under her breath. Or maybe tries to, though it’s loud enough that Sanae hears it anyway. She’s unbothered though, as evidenced by the steps that insolently let themselves.
“Who told you you could come in?”, asks Sanae, still giving Natsuo her back as she started moving around the stuff they’d be using for practice today.
Natsuo, helpful and difficult to ignore as always, makes herself noticeable again by putting a hand over her shoulder and against the makiwara she had just grabbed.
“Don’t move that yet”, she almost orders like an spoiled child or something. “It’ll get in our way when we’re sparring.”
“When?” This time Sanae does throw her a look. “/We/?”
“Ah, right.” Sanae is already sighing before she’s even finished talking, so of course her next words reflect the amused smile on her face. “Want to spar?”
She was so annoying.
“You can’t just come here and demand we fight whenever you want. You—“
Why?
Sanae’s lips tighten slightly. It meant that she was doing her best to keep a fed-up expression from reaching her face.
“You are not a child, Ishido. You know perfectly well why.”
Natsuo clicks her tongue.
“Right, right, of course. You don’t want me to beat y—“
“The way you do it is disrespectful to our club, unbelievably entitled and I simply will not accommodate you until you at least bother to learn some manners.”
That said, she pushes at the elbow besides her to get out of the box Natsuo had more or less pushed her in, immediately crossing her arms as she turned to face Natsuo — Quite literally, at that. She was really close (but then, it was Natsuo; Not unusual at all.)
“You need to stop that. It’ll give the club the wrong idea.”
Natsuo actually has the nerve to throw her head back and laugh. She also doesn’t step back at all. Instead, she looks at her from above, eyes glinting with more amusement that the situation granted.
“‘The wrong idea? Like what?” She, of course, doesn’t give her a chance to answer. “That I like you, maybe?”
“For one, y—“
“Like eyebrows does?”
A hand shots forward like a whip, clenches around Natsuo’s wrist with strength full of warning.
“I won’t allow you to make fun of her.”
She thought Natsuo would disengage from her hold — It would’ve been easy for her, though considering how close they were it would’ve forced her to take a step back, which would’ve been an admittedly small and insignificant victory but a victory nonetheless.
Natsuo, however, doesn’t. She raises her hand between them but doesn’t do anything to break free from the hold.
“She knows I call her eyebrows.”
“Ishido.” Her grip tightens. “You know perfectly well that’s not it.”
“So I can keep teasing her over her eyebrows, huh”, she taunts, unfazed. And that’s when she catches her off guard: ”But if you mean the ‘I have a crush on Sanae-senpai’ thing, I’d only tease her over how she advertises it so much I’m expecting to see ir on the news one of these days. I’m like her, after all.”
It takes her a beat to understand what she’s saying, then what it means.
“What?”, she finally asks, more out of confusion than because she honestly, truly wants to know the answer because, this is just one of her games, isn’t it? She’s going somewhere with this. She’s doing it to get under her skin and get them to fight. She should know better than to give her the chance to go where she wants to.
“Yeah”, Natsuo says with a shrug. “I’m certificated and everything. Want to see it?”
She’s criminally nonchalant when she digs into her pocket with her free hand, digs out a thin wallet, opens it and shows here, as if it were a license, the most surreal thing Sanae’s ever seen in her life.

Sanae is dumbfounded. She knows she looks dumbfounded. She knows that the smirk creepy up Natsuo’s lips is a result of how dumbfounded she looks.
“Eyebrows has it too, by the way. She was actually there when I got mine, we got certified at the same time— You should ask her about that.”
Sanae lets her go, a dozen questions in her mouth yet too confused to ask many.
“Sanae-chan, stop frowning. You’ll give yourself a headache.” Natsuo looks at her for a while longer, then sighs and turns around, the “long” wait enough to make her lose her interest enough that she reconsidered her desire to be in the dojo at all. “Listen, I only came because I heard you beat whoever sent you to second place on that one karate competition last year. I’ve been trying to confirm if that’ll mean anything when fighting you or not.”
Of course, that show of attitude is enough for Sanae to bounce back.
“If you want to know more about it, you can ask Kei. She knows everything and would be more than happy to answer your questions.” She opens the door, seemingly to leave.
She halts just before she’s completely shut it closed though. Sanne doesn’t know how to read the look she’s giving her. She instinctually frowns... harder.
“If you feel like getting your own, though — Feel free to skip eyebrows and go straight to me instead.”
The door closes with a dull ‘tock’. Sanae finds herself in an empty room, wrestling with the not unfamiliar image of Natsuo easily bringing up inner questions and promises as it twirled around in her mind.
