An oldie but a goodie—in this round, we draw inspiration from famous words said by other people.

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

At first Taiga didn’t understand what he was seeing -- a half-naked Kuroko on Aomine’s lap, his mouth pressed against Aomine’s neck and Aomine, eyes wild and grinning like he’d won the big one. He must’ve choked aloud, because suddenly two pairs of blue eyes, dramatically different from each other, were trained on him.

“Ah, Kagami-kun,” Kuroko said, looking a little surprised. “I thought you’d be shopping a little longer.”

“What’s with you barging into people’s rooms without knocking?” Aomine said, with a giant yawn.

“That’s -- this is my room, you asshole!”

“Ah?” Aomine elbowed Kuroko in the ribs, nearly knocking him over. “Tetsu, you dog.”

Kuroko looked contrite. But not quite sorry.

This was bad. Taiga knew that, in theory at least, he was Kuroko’s friend and should be happy if he found someone that made him happy, even if that person was annoyingly arrogant person like Aomine. And he could even forgive them for -- what they’d done in his bed, after they’d stripped it down and laundered the sheets and everything. It was hard to find a time and place for your boyfriend if you didn’t live alone, he supposed. Even so, he hoped next time they’d just go to a hotel.

Actually, the thing that bothered Taiga the most was the nagging feeling that he was supposed to be the one for Kuroko. But he’d waited too long to act and Kuroko had chose someone else.

“You’re really stupid, you know that?” Aomine said, collapsing onto the bench beside Taiga with a heaving sigh. Taiga pushed aside the wet towel that had been covering his head to glare at Aomine, who grinned back at him like he had in Taiga’s bed and it was so unfair --

Taiga felt a weird feeling in his stomach, like it was trying to escape to his heart. “I gotta go home,” he said, getting up. “I have an upset stomach. Tell Kuroko I can’t do dinner tonight.”

“Oi!” Aomine protested as he escaped from the street basketball court. “But you promised! I know where you live, Bakagami!”

Taiga had come home and stripped and taken a shower. His back had felt so hot that he thought it must have been like those old fashioned blacksmiths making a sword -- plunging red hot iron into a barrel of water. Even lying under the AC didn’t seem to help calm him -- although he did begin to sneeze because of his wet hair.

He wasn’t surprised to hear his door ring, nor, after opening it, to see Kuroko and Aomine standing there, Aomine’s arm slung casually over Kuroko’s shoulder.

“Yo,” Aomine said, “are you going to let us in?”

“Kagami-kun,” Kuroko said hesitantly. “We wanted to ask you something…”

“Um, yeah. I want to,” Taiga said, blushing. “I mean, come in.”

he doesn't know how it started, or why, all he knows is that it happens and that he's okay with it, for the most part. that much in itself is annoying enough.

but no, he does know why. agon knows exactly why he agrees to meet hiruma late at night when he texts out of the blue, why he'll agree to buy the second and third and fourth round of drinks, and why he's got the bone sharp angles of hiruma's frame now pressed between his chest and the apartment wall. it started ages ago, this song and dance, where they used each other and used each other for a quick favor, for a fight, before agon learned hiruma wasn't just trash, he was a trash monster. hiruma has a special kind of knack with people where he can take one look at someone and be able to butcher away the layers of them to know exactly what makes them tick. it's the exact opposite of him, who never needed to be a precision being because he had enough strength to smash into the core of someone and take what he needed. why learn about someone if you're just going to throw them aside, anyway?

once agon thought he was strong enough to not be taken down by hiruma's ways, that his own strength and abilities could keep hiruma from doing whatever bullshit he does. but here in the dead of night, with hiruma's lips crushed up against his own, with his hands pulling at hiruma's hair to get that stupid ass look out of place, he has to own up to the fact that hiruma's got him wrapped around his middle finger like all fucking the rest.

it drives him insane, to think he lost in this weird thing they have going on, but when hiruma shakes because agon shoves his tongue down his throat it doesn't taste like losing at all.

"you're easy to read." hiruma told him once, laughing because of course he thought it was funny. "all you want is either a challenge or a good time."

agon snorted. "and you think your trash ass can be either of those things to me?"

and hiruma, that bastard, shot agon a grin so wide and so deadly sharp that he still fucking thinks about when he closes his eyes. nothing else he can think of gets his blood pumping quite like it.

Sharp eyes and sharper teeth, that's what first catches Noya's attention. The way Ryuu looks from the other side of the net, challenge written into every limb and every movement. Noya remembers the sound Ryuu's hand made against the ball and the look on Ryuu's face as he spikes it, fierce and happy. He doesn't remember if Ryuu scores or not- it's just a practice game, and one of their first at Karasuno- but he remembers the answering rush he felt, to meet that fiery energy.

They become friends, bonding over volleyball and Kiyoko and half a dozen other similarities. They bring out the best in each other, he thinks. Ryuu is a great guy; he cares about the team and his friends and his sister, and Noya fits himself so neatly into his life it's like he was always there. Like they've always been friends.

Sometimes Noya wonders what it would be like if they always had been friends. It might be good, great, better than this, even. Or he might never have noticed the way Ryuu blazes during a match, bright eyes, loud voice, teeth bared. He might have taken those things for granted.

He'll never know, so he might as well focus on what's real.

Like the faces Ryuu pulls whenever he feels like they're being disrespected. It should be ridiculous- it is ridiculous- but Noya loves it. It's different than how Ryuu is on the court, dark instead of bright, but it's the same feeling of challenge.

As they get closer, the boundaries of their friendship shift, soften, and Noya learns what it's like to wake up in Ryuu's arms, or with Ryuu in his. He learns a gentler, romantic side of Ryuu, one that he's always sort-of known existed, but rarely thought about. It's nice, comforting, and definitely not something Noya's going to complain about. He loves Ryuu, all of him, and he doesn't want to hurt him.

But the soft way Ryuu looks at him when they're alone doesn't make Noya's heart race the way it does the moment after they trade looks on the court, when Noya takes an extra half-second to admire the way Ryuu glares at their opponents. Noya treasures the sleepy smiles he gets when they wake up together, but it's the bright, sharp slash of a smile Ryuu wears during a match that pulls at his heart and his gut. Ryuu vulnerable is something precious and secret, but Ryuu bold and challenging is a brick wall, a beacon, something stubborn and formidable.

He loves Ryuu, every side of him. It's just that when they're just them, together, Ryuu makes Noya feel still and warm, and when Ryuu is picking a fight, with a stranger or on the court, he makes Noya want to jump, to dive, to pick fights of his own, and Noya has always preferred action to quiet.
