This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 9 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)
RULES
- Submit prompts by commenting to this post! You prompt should consist of one scenario beginning with the phrase "Remember when", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from our list of nominated fandoms.
- Your prompts can take the form of recalling canon facts/events ("Remember when Nozomi and Eli got parfaits after school?"), non-canon events ("Remember when Megumi and Jin met at the Tadokoro Family Reunion?"), or somewhere in-between ("Remember when Bokuto and Kenma first met?"). Headcanons and AUs are welcome!
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Rei & Nagisa). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Rei/Nagisa). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!

“Hello, what's your name?”
“Miyahara.”
“Miyahara…?”
The wind rustles through the leaves, too loud.
--
There's nothing in her pockets. She's too neat to not put things back in their proper place-- from simple pleasure of the duty, first; habits formed from need, second. Miyahara curls her fingers into a small fist, unseen inside the pocket, her only give to frustration. There isn't even a clump of lint in there, maybe worth something as a scrap of home; or an old, faded receipt, bargainable as a small moment of memories made.
“It's been seven days and I cannot find them.”
The witch tilts her head, and her smile is bright and kind. Or at least, Miyahara thinks it is kind; she knows enough of cunning to see something sharp slip briefly behind it.
“Tell me about them.”
Miyahara purses her lips; the frown that creases her brow is almost reflexive. “It was a week ago, when they looked up at the sun and I thought I saw something change in them. I'm not sure what it was, but it felt important. When they flew away the next morning, I felt uneasy, and when they did not return that night, or the night after…”
She sighs, and looks down at her empty hands. “They were always a little difficult.”
The witch’s mouth is gentle, but there is a light in her eyes. She looks like she, too, has the sun in them; they glow even here, in this little clearing, deep in the dark of the green wood. “The difficult ones are always the most interesting! Don’t worry, I have a good idea of where they are-- I was out flying the other day, and I saw the sun behind the mountains, and something tells me that’s where you’ll find them.”
“But, but, they can’t fly that high yet, they fall when they-- the cliffs are steep and the rocks--” Fear tastes like salt in Miyahara’s mouth, and she wonders, is there any worth in her childhood memories, can her years of care be traded away for years that they did not have yet.
The wind rustles through the leaves, quiet and green, and Miyahara thinks she hears her name. But what was it again?
“I will take care of it for you!” the witch says, as she places her own hands over Miyahara’s resting in her lap. The witch’s hands are warm, and Miyahara wonders at the betrayal of own her cheeks flushing pink. “And I will bring them back to you, and they will be whole, or at least in body, I think you’ll have to figure the rest out yourself, and when that happens, you can come back here to pick up your name!” The witch’s hands are still covering Miyahara’s, and suddenly the wood is not so dark afterall. “I’ll need that, if that’s okay with you.”
“Is that-- is that all you want from me?” There’s a light coming from somewhere, pale and sharp, and it suffuses the little clearing where they sit, and Miyahara feels blinded in this moment. “I thought that maybe--”
“They never use your name anyway, do they. Would you even miss it?” The witch looks sad suddenly, but maybe it was just the way the light fell on her slight shoulders. And then softly, “Come back here to visit me, and I will use your name for you, and you will not forget it this way.”
The witch wears an apron with a little pocket on the front, and from it she pulls out a small grey bone. It looks like it came from a finger, or the tip of a wing; Miyahara never learned to tell the difference.
“Take this to go home, but think to visit me when the wind comes down from the mountain too loud. I’m very good at puzzles, and I make quite a decent tea.”
--
Miyahara never did figure out the rest, at least not yet, but she did come back, and the witch was very good at puzzles, and her tea was always piping hot from the fire, and when Miyahara looks up at the rafters of the little house in the heart of the wood, she could see her name hung there like a bell.
