Bonus Round 1: Memory

Let's start our summer by looking at the past—things that happened in canon, or maybe in an AU, or maybe just as wishful thinking...


This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 9 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post! You prompt should consist of one scenario beginning with the phrase "Remember when", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from our list of nominated fandoms.
  • Your prompts can take the form of recalling canon facts/events ("Remember when Nozomi and Eli got parfaits after school?"), non-canon events ("Remember when Megumi and Jin met at the Tadokoro Family Reunion?"), or somewhere in-between ("Remember when Bokuto and Kenma first met?"). Headcanons and AUs are welcome!
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Rei & Nagisa). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Rei/Nagisa). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• Post fills by leaving a responding comment to a prompt with your newly-created work.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!



For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)


For fills:


First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

FILL: TEAM IMAIZUMI SHUNSUKE/NARUKO SHOUKICHI, T

Oikawa/Kageyama, T, reference to sex, 410 words

"My life is over," Oikawa declares when he gets benched for spraining an ankle. He throws himself onto the couch, careful to put any pressure on said ankle, and pouts. "Are you listening, Tobio-chan?"



Kageyama pauses from making Oikawa's favorite tea. With utmost concentration, he sets the kettle back on the stove and carries the mug of hot tea over to the couch of their shared apartment. When Oikawa makes a grabby hand motion at him, Kageyama sets the mug down on the coffee table and holds Oikawa's hand instead. "It's only for a week, Oikawa-san."



"Yeah, but the reserve setter doesn't know what he's doing!" Oikawa huffs inelegantly. "He'll undo all of my hard work."



"He won't," Kageyama promises, thinking about the time he'd met the said reserve setter. Oikawa's J-league team had been surprised when Kageyama paid them a visit, probably because star setters of rival teams usually don't show up just to deliver forgotten wallets to their boyfriends. "You'll be back on the court before the next match."



Oikawa rolls his eyes. "Any chance someone on your team will get injured soon?"



"No," Kageyama says firmly, knowing exactly who Oikawa is thinking of. "Ushijima-san is too methodical to trip over a stray volleyball."



"Mean, Tobio-chan!" Oikawa huffs and squeezes the loose skin on Kageyama's arm. When he doesn't get a reaction out of Kageyama, Oikawa frowns. "You're only with me to get setting tips."



This makes Kageyama scowl. "That's not true."



"No one loves me!" Oikawa says, throwing an arm over his face.



"Oikawa-sa-" Kageyama gets a kick to his leg for his efforts.



"I told you to call me Tooru!"



"Tooru-san," Kageyama continues stiffly. "I used to look up to you, mostly in bed, but that's not just because of your volleyball skills. You're, eh, good with your team and everyone likes you. The reserve setter could never replace you."



Oikawa is silent for a moment. Eventually, he squeezes Kageyama's hand and grins. "Huh. You're right."



“Thank you,” Kageyama replies, obviously pleased.



“I taught you well,” Oikawa decides, now reaching for the coffee table and smiling when Kageyama hands him the tea. “Does this mean you no longer look up to me in bed?”



Kageyama stares pointedly at the wall. “Not since we started trying other positions.”



“Gross, Tobio-chan!”



“I-“ Kageyama gapes. “You’re the one who dictated them!”



“Yeah,” Oikawa says, wheezing in laughter. He pulls Kageyama forehead by the hand. “You’re my gross little Tobio-chan.”

i'm glad that you didn't go down the obvious angst route this was so cute i love how you portrayed their dynamic!
