Bonus Round 4: Official Art

Bonus Round 4: Official Art

This round is CLOSED. Late fills can be posted, but they won't receive points.

Memorable canon moments, bizarre omakes, tantalizing magazine spreads—this is the round to explore them all. Bring out your screencaps, promotional art, and manga pages, and let's talk about what really happened.
Please read the rules carefully before posting!

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a canon screencap from one of our nominated fandoms along with a ship. Screencaps can be from an anime or manga, as well as any other kind of offshoot media, e.g. official art, drama CD covers, light novel illustrations, magazine covers, and/or caps from games. Doujinshi, fan-made games or any other fan-created work should not be prompted, even if you receive permission. Only prompt screencaps that are taken from a piece of canon media.
  • Keep your prompt concise. Don't prompt a whole manga chapter, for example.
  • Upload the cap somewhere (imgur works well) and post here with the images themselves or a link to them.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Riko & Momoi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Riko/Momoi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work inspired by the cap.
  • Fills can be directly connected to the cap, e.g. panel redraws or writing fic that fleshes out the moment that was capped or that fleshes out what happened directly before/after, but fills can also be more indirectly linked. As long as the work is somehow inspired by the cap, it counts.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

no major warnings, 488 words

“Arakita.”

It’s the first day of the Inter-high and Arakita is on edge. It’s his first, and only, Inter-high and he’s more than ready to hop on his Bianchi and take Fukutomi to the finish. There’s a glove in his mouth when he finally looks over at Fukutomi, eyebrow raised in question.

“Arakita, are you ready?”

Arakita snorts in response, closing the velcro on his glove with a shake of his head.

“Of course, Fuku-chan.” He replies, moving to fit on his other glove. “This is what I’ve been waiting for these past three years, you know? This magical race that you promised was ~oh so special~ and great.”

Fukutomi stares at him, eyes too piercing as he takes a sip from his water bottle. His gaze has always been to much for Arakita to handle and he finds himself looking down at his gloves to avoid it.

“What, Fuku-chan. You’re staring.” He re-velcros his gloves one more time, just a little bit tighter. Just the way he likes it.

“Nothing. You are strong, Arakita. Just like all of Hakone is strong.”

They’re words that Arakita and the whole team has heard over and over again. But it’s true. They are strong. They are the Kings and Arakita isn’t going to be the one that breaks that tradition. No, he’s going to be the one to push Fukutomi to the goal, to be the only one to watch his back when he places first on day one, two, and three.

Regardless, Arakita sighs, nudging his shoulder against Fukutomi’s as he walks to get his bike.

“And here I thought you had something important to say.”

But as much as he says so, the words still stick with him to the finish line.

You are strong.

The cheers and encouragements from the spectators are louder than any race that Arakita’s been to. They’re already annoying. He clips his helmet on, tightening the strap once, twice. Tight enough to just were he likes it, same as his gloves.

You are Strong.

“I am strong, huh.” He mutters to himself, hands gripping at his handlebars as the referees announce the two minute warning. This is it. This is the Inter-high.

He’s here. He’s here at the starting line after three years of long, hard work, standing tall and strong along with Fuku-chan and Shinkai and Toudou and Izumida and Manami. Each and every one of them is a King. Each and every one of them is strong.

I am strong?, Arakita thinks, Nah, Fuku-chan. You are the strong one. You brought us all here. You built this team. You are strong. Thank you.

He almost says it to Fukutomi, but one look at how focused he is, and Arakita drops the idea. The referees give the thirty second warning.

Inter-high lasts three days. Arakita would surely have the time to tell him at some point.
