SASO 2015: Final Results

We've reached the end of the road at last: the final post of SASO 2015! For the last three months you have worked hard; made friends; created thousands of fanworks; and generally done yourselves, your teams, and your fandom proud.

LOOKING FORWARD

We do plan to run an event this winter. We're debating between either a second Inter High Exchange or an event similar to the bonus rounds.

Please let us know what you'd like to see by voting here!

Lastly...yes, we're going to try to run a SASO 2016. ;D Keep an eye on our tumblr and twitter around next March for when nominations open up.

We're so very proud of you, and we hope that this summer is something you look back on with pride for years to come. Whether your team placed high or not, whether you worked on both or neither of your team's main round entries, whether you created a million bonus round fills or just one, this summer you probably pushed yourself hard and did things you'd never done before. Your fandoms and your ships are richer for your effort and the work you've created. Thank you for everything! You did it!!

Final reminders that all bonus rounds are eternally open for fills. You can give us feedback on the event here, where the refs will be hanging out for the next week or so.

Feel free to use this post to celebrate yourselves and each other, reminisce about the summer, and generally party hard. You all rock! See you next year! :)

This is not the final wrap-up results/etc. post! But while the mods tabulate final scores and create prize graphics, now's a good time to look back and reflect on the past three months.

Please leave comments giving us feedback on the event this year! What did you like? What did you dislike or find frustrating? What can we improve for next year, and how can we improve it? What was your favorite part of the event? Least favorite? Would you participate next year or not? Why? If you could mention your team when making your comment, we'd appreciate it.

Main Round Two: Preliminary Voting

Voting closes at 18 August @ 7PM EDT

Date has been extended due to MR2 edits and voting downtime.

We've had 26 qualified submissions for the second main round! Just like the first round, you'll see a large diversity in shows, ships, content, etc. Congratulations to all teams who got submissions in!

Do note: this round has significantly more submissions that deal with much darker topics. Make sure you check out the tags in the header of the submission to make sure you're comfortable viewing the submission.

Main Round One: Tie-Breaker Vote

We've crunched the numbers and figured out who our top 14 entries are, but four teams have tied for 15th place! Therefore, we're running a tie-breaker to finalize the last team advancing to final vote.

Because of this tie-breaker vote, final voting will take place from July 17 9pm EDT to July 23 7pm EDT instead.

MAIN ROUND TWO: SINS AND VIRTUES

This main round draws upon some of humanity's most ancient and powerful motivations. There are two basic categories:

The Seven Sins: wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony.
Or
The Seven Virtues: prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, and charity.

Your entry can pick a virtue or vice, or work with the general concept of "sin" and "virtue." It's up to you!

Deadline: 7:00 PM EDT on August 4. (Countdown Timer.) Late entries earn your team participation points but are disqualified from final vote.

Main Round One: Dreams

Everyone has one; everyone's experienced one. Dreams encompass the future and the past, reality and fantasy, victory and defeat. For our first main round, we're asking you to use "dreams" — whatever that word means to you — and use it to inspire your team's entry.

We are now in the next phase of the event—the team switching period, which lasts until 22 May @ 7PM EDT (Countdown). During this time:

Teams with three people or less figure out what they want to do
Team Captains get going
Teams without a Captain select one
Qualifying teams start organizing and getting to know each other
