Bonus Round 3: Gift Tags

Bonus Round 3: Gift Tags

Feeling generous? In this round, you get to give creative gifts as prompts.

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on July 7 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES
  • Submit prompts as a gift tag in the format below. You can specify the size and a characteristic of the gift, who the sender is, who the recipient is, and a one or two sentence note from the sender to the recipient. Descriptions of the package and the included note don’t have to be explicit, see below.
    • Package: medium sized cube, rattles
      From: Kageyama Tobio
      To: Hinata Shouyou
Note: These will help you get better.
    • Envelope: manila, 12''x17'', very thick and heavy
      From: Tezuka Kunimitsu
      To: Kinjou Shingo
Note: Enclosed - Play without regrets!
  • Your prompt MUST include a relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Riko & Momoi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Riko/Momoi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work. Fillers can get creative with how to interpret the prompt: your fill can be about the character receiving the gift, one or both characters using the gift, what prompted the sender to send the gift—the physical gift itself can even be excluded from your fill. What’s important is that the gift tag is clearly the inspiration for your fill.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Posts not using this format will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, regardless of what they contain. They, like all comments in this community, are subject to the code of conduct.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

433 words.

“Iwa-chan, I’m here!” Oikawa singsongs and bounces through the entryway. His overnight bag thumps against his hip in time with every skip he does.

“Hey,” Iwaizumi says, real casual with his thumbs in his pockets as he stands rather standoffishly to the side. Oikawa pouts but thankfully puts down his bag first before he jumps into Iwaizumi’s arms.

Iwaizumi allows him, wrapping his arms around him and patting him on the back.

“It’s good to see you,” Oikawa murmurs against his collarbone.

“Yeah, same,” Iwaizumi mumbles and rubs him on the back, somewhat tenderly. Oikawa smells good, like in a weirdly comforting way; sandalwood mixed with vanilla, like coming home again and your favorite uncle has come back after three years of never seeing them. Except he doesn’t want to do the things to his favorite uncle that he does with Oikawa—alright, that analogy failed miserably.

“Did you get my present,” Oikawa says because he doesn’t have the proper inflection for it to be a question. Iwaizumi rolls his eyes. They’re still hugging, which is really long, but Oikawa doesn’t seem to want this hug to end so Iwaizumi will indulge him for now. It’s not like he wanted to let go anyways. But he’d rather die than acknowledge that first.

“You mean all that bubble wrap and nothing else,” Iwaizumi says flatly and Oikawa breaks away, spinning around in an extravagant circle. Casually, Iwaizumi eyes the numerous of objects that are in the radius of Oikawa’s arm span—the man keeps twirling yet Iwaizumi doesn’t have the heart to stop. Still, when Oikawa slows to a start, Iwaizumi cocks an eyebrow and crosses his arms. “Did you get even more flamboyant without me to keep you in check,” Iwaizumi mutters and Oikawa pouts, but picks back up.

“Yes! It’s to remind you of me,” Oikawa says and Iwaizumi stares at him.

“How,” he says flatly, which is pretty much what he said when he first received the swaths of bubble wrap.

“It didn’t?” Oikawa deflates visibly.

“No,” Iwaizumi says and points to the corner where the bubble wrap is neatly folded. “I just popped a bubble every time I missed you.”

“Oh,” Oikawa whispers, as if he’s seriously touched. Iwaizumi feels a bit terrible because he didn’t pop any and he was just being sarcastic. Oikawa’s headed over to the corner with the bubblewrap and Iwaizumi prepares for Oikawa to discover that he’s joking with a--

“None of these bubbles are popped!” Oikawa wails.

Iwaizumi stares at the wall as if he’s looking at the camera like he’s in the office.

oooOOOoOo you write movement so well! 'His overnight bag thumps against his hip in time with every skip he does.' and 'Iwaizumi says, real casual with his thumbs in his pockets as he stands rather standoffishly to the side.' This is a good image :DD

'Iwaizumi mumbles and rubs him on the back, somewhat tenderly. Oikawa smells good, like in a weirdly comforting way; sandalwood mixed with vanilla, like coming home again and your favorite uncle has come back after three years of never seeing them.
